"where do you want to go to college?" she asked. i blanked.
"i'm not even sure what i want to do," i told her. "i mean, i want to be a writer, but how do i create a career from that?"
she smiled.
"just write a book now. become a famous author now."
it's unlikely — i knew this as soon as she said it — but i'm writing this story nevertheless.
