Bailey trudged up her doorstep before drowsily opening up the door. She had to endure 2 more periods of guilt and pain from she'd done. The ambulance had to come and take Veronica. Word about Veronica was crossing the school like the plague. As Bailey stepped inside her house, she saw Chase walking down the stairs with suitcases. It reminded Bailey that Chase was leaving her. Once he saw her red eyes from crying, he set aside his bags and asked Bailey what was wrong.

"I'm dangerous Chase. I hurt someone." Bailey stuttered.

"Oh my god, what happened?" Bailey and Chase moved to their living room as Bailey explained what Veronica had said about her.

"I was just so, so angry. I tried to breathe and calm down but it didn't work." Bailey huffed.

"Unfortunately, your... gift is greatly impacted by your emotions. You need to work on controlling yourself. I know it's not easy, especially now that you're going through your early stages but things will get easier."

"Chase, this isn't a gift! It's a curse! I never asked for this stupid-whatever this is!" Bailey yelled.

"Calm down, I didn't want mine either but it can be a gift if we use it correctly."

"I don't want it... It makes me insecure. I'm different to everyone else." Bailey sighed.

"It makes you special." Chase rubbed her back. Suddenly, he stood up and went into his father's office. Returning, he held a small paperclip in his hand.

"I'm going to set this down and you're going to try and move it." Chase put the paperclip on the table. Bailey hesitated before closing her eyes and tried to focus.

"Don't close your eyes, I want to see your potential." Chase ordered. Bailey opened her eyes, her eyes beginning to turn a blue-ish tint. She felt her head start to spin and ache but tried to keep focussed. Her muscles began to contract but she held out her hands toward the paperclip. She held her breath, her face becoming red. She released her breath, letting go as she began to hyperventilated.

"I can't do it," Bailey shrugged.

"Yes, yes you can. You just need to concentrate. You need to find the place in you where you're most relaxed; when you're on the tipping point of rage and serenity. That's where you will be in control." Chase assured. Again, Bailey took in a breath and closed her eyes. She imagined her mother.

Her mother was brushing her long brown her while Bailey sat on the floor, playing with Chase's toy cars that she had stolen. Bailey was around 6 or 7. Her mother stood up and picked up a box. Setting herself down next to Bailey, she opened the box, revealing a sparkly locket necklace. Inside was a photo of her mother.

"Bailey, I want you to have this." Her mother's smooth voice cooed.

"What is it mummy?"

"It's a necklace. I want you to have it as a gift. Mummy needs to tell you something."

"What is it?"

"Mummy has something called... cancer. It's not very good, it makes mummy sick. I just wanted you to have this incase something ever happened to me." A tear fell down her mother's face.

"Mummy, why are you crying?" Bailey's little voice asked.

"I-I'm just so happy and grateful. Bailey, you and your brother mean so much to me and I'm so happy I get to share such wonderful moments with you. I love you more than you could ever comprehend." She pulled Bailey in for a hug.

"I love you too mummy."

Bailey opened her eyes. In front of her, the paperclip was suspended in the air, a small ball of blue light encasing it. She let out a little huff of astonishment. Looking to her left, she saw her brother sporting a proud smile.

"I told you you could do it." He chuckled. Bailey looked back and slowly began to lower the paperclip back onto the table. Her eyes began to return to their normal hazel colour as the blue light disappeared into the air. The moment was interrupted by a car horn outside. Chase jumped out and checked outside the window.

"That's my ride." He picked up his bags and began to walk outside. Bailey followed him as he put his bags in the car's boot. Looking up, Chase noticed Bailey's teary face. He stopped and pulled Bailey into a hug.

"Thank you Chase, I love you." Bailey said with a shaky voice.

"I love you too. Just know that if I could take you with me, I would."

"I'm gonna miss you so much. What if something happens to me and you're not here?" Bailey started to cry into his shoulder.

"I'm your brother Bailey, I'm going to be here for you no matter what." Chase rubbed Bailey's back. "Just remember everything I've taught you and you should be just fine."

"O-Ok. Please visit."

"Of course, and you can visit me sometimes too." Bailey let go of Chase as she wiped her tears away with her sleeve.

"Goodbye Bailey." Chase waved as he jumped in the passenger seat of the car. Bailey waved a small hand as she saw the car drive off.
