It's Hoseok's turn today. Namjoon is already there so the red-haired boy fastened up his pace through the empty streets of their erased-from-the-maps hometown. No wonder so many of his peers are depressed, hopeless and consciously ruining themselves. Disgust built up in his throat when he passed by their high school. So tragic and antagonizing, it's never clean, windows are broken, minors are smoking and spitting everyhwere, cussing god. Head of school? Junky. Staff? All underpaid, overworked with no interest in their job. But what can he do? Seokjin managed to save himself, he's a brilliant student and has both mentally and financially stable parents. If it weren't for their friendship, none of them would graduate from high school. Most of them are back on their feet, not everyone though... whatever, he thought, fingers crossed everyone gets what they deserve at the end.

Dense fog is making it hard to see whether someone's coming his way. He stopped briefly at leaves crackling near him. It's coming from the Wood. Oh, how he despises its' existence and all the stories sending chills down his spine. Perhaps it's winter poking through his clothes and causing his bones to shake unnoticeably, or is it fear? His eyes squinted to have a better look at a white apparition walking deeper into the Wood. What is a girl doing there? And alone? Hoseok scoffed at the ridiculous thought and didn't hesitate any second longer to walk away. Enough interactions with the spirit world for today.

He sneaked inside Yoongi's home and was greeted by his drunk father's snoring on the couch in front of the TV

"Cunt", Hoseok cursed under his breath and proceeded to his friend's bedroom. The hallway is as dead as the streets, winter may be outside but it's worse in here. Namjoon's sitting on the floor with Yoongi, they're playing shogi yet Yoongi seems to be absent-minded, uninterested and exhausted. His slender fingers picked up the wooden piece, a bishop, so weakly it could fall any second. If Hoseok remembers correctly, Yoongi wore this same hoodie last time he visited, his hair wasn't as messy and greasy and gosh, his face looked better in general. Tears are constantly and painfully slowly gliding down his cheeks. He admired Namjoon's patience with the broken boy and kneeled next to the shogi board to watch the game

"Hi, how you doing guys?", Hoseok asked and smiled as brightly as he could. Namjoon answered and they waited for Yoongi to say something too

"Awful", he eventually said. Hoseok's smile vanished and Namjoon sighed. He decided to leave them in silence and watch the game in hopes their company is comforting to Yoongi.

Yoongi's stomach growled for who knows which time in that short period since Hoseok arrived. Both of his friends jumped and offered to get something to eat, literally anything he wants. Namjoon would go to the other end of the world for Yoongi, he would do the same for him. Their friendship is strong, no doubt in that. But it seems like Yoongi feels isolated or worse, like he wants to push away everyone from him. Yoongi kept shaking his head, claiming he doesn't want anything and avoided talking

"When was the last time you had a good night's sleep?"

"A few days ago"

"Yoongi..."

The boy yawned and closed his eyes for a moment. In an instant, Namjoon and Hoseok decided to leave him alone and pray for Yoongi to finally rest and eat. They walked outside and felt shut out when Yoongi pulled the curtains over bedroom's window. Hoseok took a deep breath and watched steam disappearing in the grey sky from his sigh

"His condition isn't improving nor worsening. I don't know what to think or do any more", he complained and caught up with Namjoon who's taking tiny, slow steps as if Yoongi's going to run out with a bright smile and say he's feeling good

"Me neither, I'm disappointed in myself for not being able to help him"

"Namjoon, no. We're all doing our best for him but... I just don't understand it"

"Which part exactly?"

"Honestly", Hoseok began and his heart pumped like wild from the upcoming confession

"Yeong was a bitch, no one liked her except him and... I don't know, I just don't think she's worth his suffering"

"Me too, but that's the thing. We don't have to understand it, he knew her like no one else. There was something between them... we can't comprehend. Their bond was so strong, imagine if one of us just... yeah"

"Don't bring it up, I'll cry"

"See? Anyway, we should all stay strong for Yoongi. I know he won't disappoint us. Just a little longer, okay?"

"You always have something smart to say"

"Books, Hoseok. Books"

"Yuck"

How is this possible? How did that lump of depression and pain turn into his normal self just out of nowhere? He was starving himself and sleep-deprived just a few days ago! Of course, Hoseok is glad to finally see his friend doing alright, but it's sketchy as fuck. Is he pretending to be okay?

"Nari", he whispered to the girl enjoying Yoongi's company, laughing with everyone else. They made sure no one could hear them and continued

"Have you talked to Yoongi about... you know?"

"No, no one dares to mention it since he seems to be fine"

"I get that but what if he's just putting up a show for us?", she tilted her head and stared at the ground without blinking. Her lips formed a thin line before speaking

"You think he's pretending?"

"What if he just snapped and kills someone?", Nari punched him in the shoulder which caught Jimin's attention who later joined them to see what's between the two of them

"Hey guys, everything okay?"

"Do you think Yoongi actually recovered or is this just a facade?", Hoseok asked bluntly to what Jimin showed concern and furrowed his brows

"It is a bit suspicious..."

"Yeah, and what if he loses his shit if we mention Yeong?"

"I don't think we should just beat around the bush. If there's a problem then we should solve it", with that, Jimin turned on his heel and walked towards Yoongi. Hoseok and Nari followed him, kind of afraid of what might happen but he's right. No secrets allowed in their group

"Yoongi, can I ask you something?"

"Sure", he answered and cocked up his eyebrow like it's something unusual for Jimin to interact with him

"We're just worried about you so we just want to make sure you're not hiding your true emotions"

"What do you mean?"

"Is your soul at peace regarding... Yeong?", Yoongi's lips parted and eyes widened. Just like everyone else's and no one dared to breathe. Has her name triggered him? Did Jimin pick on a weak spot? What could it be?

"Y-Yeong?"

"Yes", Jimin answered in a shaky voice and cleared his throat immediately after

"Sorry but... I don't know who you're talking about"
