As salamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarkatuhu.
If we are not establishing the five daily prayers in our lives, our lives are truly meaningless. Until and unless we establish these five daily prayers, there is little, if any, hope for us in the Hereafter.
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ (4) الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ
So woe (a valley in Hell) to those who pray
[But] who are heedless of their prayer - (107:4-5)
This warning is aimed at those who delay their prayers, so what about those who do not pray?
فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا * إِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُولَئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا
{But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil -
Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all.} (19:59-60)
Taking the salah lightly is a sign of extreme arrogance.
Establishing the prayer (salah) ourselves and ordering our children to do so is an obligation, not a matter of choice or a just a recommended and commendable act.
