I Stand Alone

They didn't even care to see how I was.
Not even a question.

Whatever.

I don't mind being alone.
But being surrounded by strangers, bored,
That's lonely.

I hate when I'm left to exist on my own.
It's as if I'm a ghost,
Wandering the world of living creatures.

Never to be seen.
And never to be heard.

I walk alone.
Whether my friends are by my side or not.
I stand alone.
Whether they say they have my back.
I speak alone.
Whether they answer my questions or not.

I am alone.
Whether I want to be or not.
I can be alone.
Because of what I see.
What I need,
Is to be lonely,
With someone.

I accept my loneliness and make the most of it.
But that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.
