Gabbie entered her room and locked the door behind her. She sat on her bed, head buried in her hands. Her own parents wouldn't even support her decision! She was enraged by this. Then, she heard her phone buzz and saw a text from Jonah, telling her to go to window. She went over and sat in the small bay window and looked out to see Jonah, sitting by his window. He smiled and waved. Gabbie looked down at her phone.
Jonah: You ok? I saw you storm into your room.
Gabbie looked up at Jonah and frowned.
Gabbie: Have you heard about the game tomorrow?
He looked up and nodded.
Gabbie: My parents are really mad about it
Gabbie: Like they don't think I should do it and they won't support me and my decisions
Jonah looked up with a concerned look on his face.
Jonah: I'm sorry :(
Jonah: Why don't they want you to do it tho?
Gabbie looked up at Jonah and shrugged.
Gabbie: I don't really know. I guess cuz they think it's unfair
Gabbie saw Jonah look at his phone, confused.
Jonah: How is it unfair?
Gabbie: Because you all are boys
Gabbie: And they think girls shouldn't be playing boys
Jonah: what the heck
Jonah: Well I honestly think you all will win
Jonah smiled.
Gabbie: Thanks :)
Jonah: Tyler has taken this way too far
Gabbie nodded.
Gabbie: yeah I know right?!
Jonah: I tried to get him to stop
Jonah: and I can't believe coach lets him do it and approves of the game
Gabbie: our coach kind of had to let us play
Gabbie: But yeah it's stupid.
Jonah: how are you feeling about the game?
Gabbie: a little nervous but otherwise I'm fine. You?
Jonah: kinda nervous. I'm pitching.
Gabbie: seriously? Do you know how to pitch a softball?
Jonah: no not really
Jonah: but Tatum sorta taught me how to. We made a rule that we're only throwing fastballs.
Gabbie: that's good!
Jonah looked up and nodded, then he turned to face his door. He yelled something, but Gabbie couldn't tell what he said.
Jonah: I gotta go, my mom needs me to watch my little sister while she's out. See you tomorrow?
Gabbie: Yeah, see ya! :)
Gabbie looked out her window and saw Jonah wave goodbye as he walked out of the room. She waved back as the door closed. She decided to go to bed. She had a big day a head of her.
