"you busy Saturday night jessy?"
"no scotty i'm not going out with you, remember what happened last time?"
"i remember but it wasn't that bad"
"scott my mom tore my tail up when I got home because she found out we were hanging around james and I don't want my tail tore up again"
"come on jessy?"
"no, besides how do you know james?"
"jimmy's my cousin, hes not what you think he is jes"
"yea he is, scotty I can't be around him again"
"that's not fair jessy, he's a good guy he's just had a hard past like you..."
"sure he's a good guy when my mom hates him"
"why does she hate him?"
"I've never known. honestly scotty I wish I could but she won't let me"
"well how bout we just go out and race a little at the track?"
"sure after I get off"
"your working Saturday?"
"yup, john won't let me off"
"why not? I mean you work 5 13 hour days a week?"
"i know but he says I either work Saturday or lose the job and I need it so"
"jes I know you don't like to talk about it but why did your dad leave?"
"cause he wasn't man enough to be a husband and father"
"how long has it been since he left?"
"about 4 years"

"so i'll be out at the track with the coupe after I get off"
"alright, hey what if I talked to john and asked him to let you off?"
"he still probably won't let me have Saturday off"
"its worth a try"
"why is it so important for me to be off Saturday?"
"because I miss messin around at the track with my best friend"
"your messin around with me right now"
" but your at work jes"
"well your still messing around with me, who are you inviting out to the track anyways?"
"just some od the guys"
"james going to be one of them?"
"probably, maybe we can get you two to drag race"
"i don't know, scotty last time that didn't go well"
"i think it'll go alright this time and besides you weren't racing against him last time"
"maybe not but still"
"come on jessy, you never seem to want to have any fun anymore. what happened to the rebel you were before that night?"
"most of her died and whats left grew up, she has a mom and sister to support now"

"it's my job now scotty, i'm the oldest and mom and carol count on me"

"i do and that's why I do anything and everything I can to give them what they need"
