snow

Snow falls in frosted flakes
It tickles my eyelashes white and kisses my lips chaste

It's fingers nip my cheeks, tinged pink
and it breathes down my slender neck

The snow turns to ashes falling high from the sky, it coats my hair thick and makes my throat dry

The ashes lay still.
Pale sprinkles of people that were or could've been, life that hadn't learnt to live and life that had never sinned

I now bare the weight humanity will fail to lift, littering the planet with its plastic it cannot shift

The pollution above and below has finally caused a commotion and every little person has drowned in the rising ocean.

The dust of bodies on my skin will not melt like the snow. This stain will always haunt the Earth, more than we can ever know.
