Lip wobbles
Frown falters

Open mouthed gasping when crying doesn't do the trick
The pain rips my body in two, tugs the heartstrings

Flick flick

The teardrops travel down my chest
Where your half moon, crescent  necklace will no longer rest

I pack our memoirs away, pictures, jewellery, postcards, all to be forgotten in the back of my wardrobe

In the broken hinged treasure chest
