"Excuse me?" Anjana asked standing in front of Zoya, with folded hands, "You are talking to me?"Zoya looked down and looked back at Anjana, "I didn't wish to...but I had to!"
Anjana frowned hearing it, while she took a glance at Aditya. Aditya was still unable to believe that Zoya was talking against Anjana, that too for him.
"Wow Aditya!" Anjana said with a mocking smile, "These days you lost the guts to answer me directly too? You are hiding behind some unknown girl like a coward and..."
"Even you are doing the same now...right Ma'am?" Zoya asked, while Anjana turned at her with a fierce look. Pooja was looking at Zoya with a surprised expression, as she has never seen Zoya arguing like this with anyone.
"Nobody commanded me to answer you, but I personally wanted an answer to my question for you..." Zoya said with a light smile, "You asked if Aditya was a good son, good brother...but do you think you are good enough to deserve an answer on that? Can you proudly say without any hesitation that you are a great human being?"
Anjana opened her eyes wide hearing that, while Zoya looked keenly at Anjana expecting her answer.
"I am surprised Ma'am! I am really surprised that how could you not see that man, who I can see?" Zoya said in a soft tone, as she smiled, "You know something Ma'am? I know Aditya only since a month or so...that too we don't share a close bond or something too. But still I consider myself very lucky to have met such an amazing human like him. But in spite of knowing him since his childhood, how could you not see that Ma'am?"
Tears filled Aditya's eyes as he heard that from Zoya and he looked at her with an overwhelming heart. Those words were too deep to come from the mouth of a girl who rarely knew him. She was the same girl to whom he was hesitating to talk some time back, and now that very same girl is speaking for him in front of everyone. That feeling was too much for him to take.
"The person whom you called now unlucky and bad luck, he is the reason I am alive today..." Zoya said with a smile as tears filled her eyes and she looked at Aditya, "He helped me see this world in a different perspective...he too has issues and sorrows in him, but still..." Zoya looked at Anjana, "But still, he made me smile again...he made me realize that I am strong...I can survive in this world...and whatever...whatever I am today, I owe it to Aditya!"
Zoya looked at Aditya with a smile, "I consider him as the oasis which Allah showed in my deserted life. I am sure his mother would have been very proud of him, had she been here!"
Tears rolled down Aditya's cheeks as he had a light smile looking at Zoya, while Zoya too smiled looking at him. Aditya didn't know how to react, but all he realized was Zoya made a strong place in his heart and life at that very moment. He didn't know what sort of a feeling was that, but he was sure if someone took a place in his life as much as his mother and Naani, it was Zoya. From that day, that moment.
Arjun was happy and at the same time emotional hearing these praises about his brother. He always knew his brother was a gem, but hearing someone telling that publicly to the woman who always despised him, made him feel proud.
Zoya looked back at Anjana, "But I doubt if even your own son would sing praises about you this way. Just giving birth to someone doesn't make you a mother, Ma'am. You have to live by that word...the love and respect you demand as a mother cannot be acquired, rather it has to be earned! And knowing about what sort of a human being you are, I doubt if you can ever earn that!"
Pooja smiled as she mouthed silently, "Fab, Zoya!"
Anjana glared at Zoya, while she looked around and saw people surrounded around them and giving her judgmental looks. She spotted Arjun too standing there. She immediately made an emotional face and rushed to him.
