NOTORIOUS

CHAPTER : 7

Night had fallen deeper now causing immense darkness everywhere. Street lamps were the only source of light on the lonely roads. Note, no traffic. Ian drove his car with mind full of thoughts about Jade, Harry and the poor girl who died. He knew there was something beyond they were seeing. He knew Jade was not fully at the fault. Suddenly a car came in front of his which made him push the breaks harder. His car halted. Ian came out of the car and the other person too. Ian was shocked to see the person as she was nobody else but his own wife Susan."

"Susan! Why do you have to block the road?" Ian questioned taking long steps in order to reach her.

"You should be thanking me for stopping right there." Susan's words confused Ian. Susan walked towards Ian in her classy high heels making her look taller as she continued "And not run over your actress." Her voice full of venom. A car honked its horn from behind Ian's car. They sure had blocked the road.

Ian looked back and again turned his face towards Susan. He held her arm and told her that they will talk about this matter at home and that they should leave now. And with that he held both her arms and pushed her back towards her car making her protest against him. "No! let go!" She screamed.

"Susan!" Ian tried calming her down. The car honked its horn again and again.

"Do you understand I won't go?" Susan said snatching her arms away from Ian's hold. The car honks again. Ian sighed and looked back at the traffic they caused behind their cars. "Do you see you are troubling other people?!" He said annoyingly.

"So what? When others trouble me they don't care." She uttered childishly making Ian throw his head back in annoyance. "Do you know that the reporters called me a hundred times?" She complained taking her phone out of her purple purse. "Look! Look!" she screamed holding her phone in front of his eyes as he tried to look anywhere but her. "Telling me that my husband is at the funeral with his actress." She complained again.

"And where was I? Stupidly waiting for her husband at home." She said, pitying herself. "How could you do this Ian Walter? Huh?!" She screamed pushing him back. "How could you take the murderer to Laura's funeral? Embarrassing me isn't enough but you step over Harry's feelings too... How could you Ian?! How could you?!" Her voice pitch too loud as she kept asking Ian and kept pushing his chest wildly.

"Susan!" Ian suddenly screamed making her stop abruptly. "What I did is to try and help both the sides." He said trying to calm down his wife. "No! listen to me! The only side you should help is Harry's. Harry is the one who suffered a loss. And he is our family. Not by being nosy and taking Jaded starlings to the funeral ! and listen... even if my dad, you or Danny maintain to the reporters that Jade didn't kill Laura... Harry will never believe it." She threw all her words out at her husband. A challenging look on her face.

Ian just looked at his wife with pure shock. "And even she has a mother who is powerful and a stepfather who is a rich business tycoon or how much they help each other conceal the evidence she will never evade Harry's judgment."

Cars kept honking but none of them caring not even Ian now. He couldn't believe the words coming out of his own wife's mouth. He just stood still and kept staring at her while she continued. "If you don't believe me then wait and see." With her last words she gave Ian a harder push in his stomach which made him move back. She turned her back around and started walking away holding her car keys on above her head and locking her car away.
