It really depends on the person. Personally i don't care if other people joke about it considering I also joke about it, but I've heard that some people find it a really sensitive topic. But for me I don't really care if people joke about it or not.
One thing I will not stand however is when some jackass decides to insult me because of my diabetes. Sometimes people think that they are just being funny but some people get extremely self conscious about it or what they say might have been very insulting.
Really it just matters about the person and how they feel about their diabetes.
