i know for a fact that the words, "i swear this is the last time" no longer held truth on my tongue
so i force my thumb to tap delete and press the power button on my phone
i deleted your number. it is only but a minuscule step to forgetting
because i've memorized it to the very last digit
i've memorized your address as if it were my own
the details on your face i've gone over a thousand times
the thick sweetness of your voice like honey
i've memorized all of you and i don't know how long it'll take for me to forget
but at least i've learned to turn away from swearing it would be the last time
i started forgetting you little by little
the moment i decided
to let you go
