Harry's POV
Louis and I turned the corner and hid. I peeked around the corner and saw the kid. His back was facing us. I raised my arm and aimed at his leg. I let go of the trigger, and the bullet hit his tibia. He fell to the floor, writhing in pain. I could sense Louis' stare on me, and it bugged me that I couldn't tell what he was thinking. I could only hope it wasn't fear.
"He isn't going to be the last guy who tries to shoot us. We have to keep going."
Louis nodded, and we continued to walk alongside the wall. As we turned the corner, a well fit guy was standing guard. I shot him in the shoulder, and his gun fell to the floor. I kicked his rifle aside then stepped over him. I got to my locker and fumbled to open it. Once I did, I moved my books around then took out a duffel bag. I rolled down the zipper and pulled a Glock G19 out and extended my hand out to Louis.
He looked at me strangely then at my hand.
"You're going to have to protect yourself, and I need you to have my back on this," I explained.
He nodded and took the gun.
"Try to aim for the limbs. It'll disable them, but it won't kill them." I instructed and zipped the bag closed.
"Why can't we just call the police?" Louis asked.
I turned around and scanned the hallways. "I know Alex. He would've cut the power off first and interfered with the signal in a 15-mile radius."
Louis scoffed. "Who taught him that?"
I turned around. "I did."
I lead the way after I told him we would get to Zayn first since he is the closest. We got to Mr Anderson's classroom without any interruptions. I reached out and twisted the doorknob then opened the door. My eyes widened. Everyone was unconscious and sprawled on the floor. My eyes scanned the room and quickly spotted a stinkbomb laying on the floor. I pulled my head out and opened the duffel bag. I pulled out two masks and handed one to Louis.
"Put it on. The air in there is toxic." I said and made sure Louis had his mask on before opening the door and walking in, Louis behind me. I tried my best to locate Zayn through the fog, but it was hard.
"Harry!" I heard Louis whisper/yell. I went over and helped Louis drag Zayn out of the classroom. I shut the door and knelt in front of Zayn.
"Oh my gosh, is he dead?" Louis asks.
I took my mask off. "No, Zayn was exposed to the air for too long."
I opened the bag and took out a small pouch then took out a single syringe.
"What are you doing?" Louis asked, unsure of the syringe in my hand.
"This will give him a shock and clear his lungs, so he'll wake up soon." I flicked the syringe, and a little of the dose sprinkles out. I grabbed Zayn's arm carefully then inserted the needle into his vein. I pushed down and watched as the substance entered his system.
In a few seconds, Zayn sat up and started coughing violently. Both Louis and I sighed in relief.
Louis patted Zayn on the back. "You gave me a big scare, Z."
Zayn was frantic and struggling to get air.
"Hey, hey, calm down. You're okay now. Deep breath, okay?" I said, my voice soft.
Zayn took a few deep breaths before calming down.
"What happened?" Zayn asked.
I sighed. I had to tell Zayn the truth. There wasn't any lie I could say that he could believe. I didn't have much time, so I shortened it.
