Chapter 13

"How long have we been walking?" a tired Taekyun slurred out, shoulders slouching and a whimpering Yeontan trailing by his side 
"About 5 hours?" Namjoon replied adjusting the bag on his back earning a long groan from the younger in return, Jungkook shifted as he walked and stopped in front of Taekyun crouching down and bring his arms around to his back, the brunette walked into him before stumbling back and looking at Jungkook through droopy eyes, Jungkook looked back and motioned his head to his back
"Get on" Taekyun continued to look at him trying to get his brain to focus on the words that came from him before furrowing his brows in confusion
"Why?" Jungkook sighed
"You're barely awake, you're just going to slow us down" not having the energy to argue back Taekyun trudged over and flop onto the elders back feeling the others muscle arms slide under his thighs , he let all of his weight fall causing Jungkook to groan out and push him up more to make sure he was properly secure, he continued on, walking alongside Namjoon and listening to the soft snores in his ear coming from the boy, Namjoon turned to look at them a soft smile spreading across his face as he picked Yeontan up too
"Softie" a scoff was heard as Jungkook whipped his head to look at the other
"Like I said, he was slowing us down" 
"Mhm, sure thing" Namjoon replied, amusing the younger but he knew better

Silence overtook the group, the only noise was the sound of their footsteps walking along the gravel of the road, a sigh resonated
"Namjoon, we're barely out of Daejeon, it's going to take us two weeks to reach Gwacheon at this rate, we can't walk there!" the mentioned hummed in agreement
"If we can get to Sejong by nightfall I have a friend there who could probably help us out" Jungkook glared at the other
"Sejong!? Are you kidding? it's four hours by bus alone-" Namjoon held up a hand silencing him, he walked closer to the road, he stuck his hand and they watched as a small pick up slowed down beside them
"You boys okay out here?" an elderly man spoke to them 
"Actually sir, we are lost, we are trying to get to Sejong but it seems we took a wrong turn?" Namjoon looked at the man with a sad expression, the old man looked at the group with a shocked expression
"Well, I don't know about lost, you're on the right track to Sejong, but it's at least four hours by car, how on earth are you boy's planning to get there? on foot?" he rose his brows at them, Namjoon sheepishly smiled and rubbed his neck
"All our means are in Sejong, we don't have any other way by foot" the man was shocked, he shook his head in disbelief
"I can get you as far as Songyong-ri, how about you boys hop in" their faces lit up as they nodded frantically, Namjoon took the front seat leaving Jungkook and Taekyun to the back of the vehicle 

Jungkook could hear Namjoon talking about with the elder through the back window, he sighed as he looked at the still sleeping Taekyun, he couldn't help but notice how the boy's lips pouted in the smallest way and how his lashes were delicate and long, he found Taekyun sleeping to be a peaceful sight, he much preferred this Taekyun over one that constantly gave him attitude and seemed to have made it his life's goal to annoy and punish Jungkook, he lie back against the back of the truck, closing his eyes, the vibrations of the truck lulling him to sleep

He awoke with a jolt, snorting slightly as he looked around in a daze, he noticed in was already late evening and that a certain brunette was awake, he was looking away from Jungkook, the sunset illuminated behind him causing a warm glow to wash over him, Jungkook looked at him in awe, he must of felt a stare because in the next second Taekyun turned around, wide eyes meeting with Jungkook's, a small blush spreading across his face before the elder shifted his gaze, an awkward silence settling over him
It was a little while before Jungkook felt like he could look again, he turned around to see Taekyun sitting there, knees raised against his chest as he fiddled with something in his fingers, Jungkook rose a brow
"What's that?" Taekyun's attention snapped up towards the other as he let out a small hum, Jungkook nodded towards the object in his hands
"Oh this! It's a necklace" 
"Can I see it?" Taekyun looked at the item then back to Jungkook, he hesitantly handed it to him, Jungkook thumbed at the pendants surface before eyeing it
"Where did you get it?"
"I've always had it, they said I arrived at the orphanage with it" Jungkook looked at him with curious eyes
"What does KTH stand for?" Taekyun shrugged
"I have no idea" a hummed sounded from Jungkook 
"This is a blue zircon, they're worth a bit, why didn't you sell it?" He studied it a bit more before it was snatched out of his hands, an annoyed breath leaving Taekyun as he did so
"Just because it's worth money doesn't mean you have to sell it! if you must know it's worth more to me than money!" Taekyun looked away with a glare
"It's the only hope I have of finding my family" his voice was small as he expression saddens, Jungkook sighed and ran a hand through his hair, he reached into the back and grabbed the file pertaining to the royal family, he flicked through until he found the page containing the information on the missing prince, he sighed again
"Kim Taehyung , December 30th" 
"KTH" he said to himself and looked toward Taekyun
"Maybe you're right Taekyun, maybe you're right...."

AN: I don't actually have any like antagonist planned for this story yet but I know there needs to be some big event that happens oof, for now I'll just focus on getting them to Jin and meeting the others
