Drifting.

We used to see each other every day,
And now you seem a million miles away.
The days of us having fun just disappeared by the blink of an eye,
And I still lay awake often wondering why.

Our sanctuary of history is now a dusty old room,
And darkness has crept in, spreading its gloom.

The fault may be in you, me,
Or maybe in our stars,
Which are now as far apart as the planets in the galaxy.

But who knows, it might be for the best,
The day might actually come,
When our encounters may not be awkward,
Or our conversations lifeless.

But now, we remain drifting,
Further and further,
The only epitome of our friendship being that chamber of secrets,
Locked with the key of pride, hate, vexation and agony.
