Chapter 31

Melody's PoV

I stare at the smoke rising from the fire Jasper just lit, watching as the  colour turns a dark purple-black colour as it combines with the oxygen in the air.

I stare at it thinking back to the morning, when I woke up in a tent next to Edward.

I open my eyes and smile softly at Edward.

"Good morning," he greets, whispering in m ear.

"Good morning," I reply placing a soft kiss on his cheek.

"Did you sleep okay?" He asks me.

I nod, "I slept surprisingly well considering the situation."

He chuckles.

"Is Bella okay?" I ask, slipping out of my sleeping bag.

He nods, "yes, she was very cold last night. Jacob ended up lying next to her to keep her warm."

"Bet Ashton loved that," I laugh.

He chuckles, "he and Jacob ended up having a heart to heart about Bella."

I slap his arm slightly, "you shouldn't have been listening."

He grins, "I couldn't help myself. It was very interesting."

I sit there waiting for him to continue.

"I can't tell you, my brother would kill me," he says.

I roll my eyes, shooing him out of the tent.

"I'm getting dressed," I explain as he complains about being kicked out.

I grin to myself as I grab my outfit for the day. I place a clean green top on, along with some blue jeans.

Sighing I glance down at my now muddy, and cut jeans. I place my hand on my side, clutching it tightly, preventing blood from seeping through the open wound, that I got from Victoria.

I walk out and stand with Bella before, Edward appears at my side, along with Ashton at Bella's.

"Seth go!" Ashton whispers.

A grey wolf nods, disappearing into the nearby trees.

"She's here," Edward states, "I can hear her thoughts."

I hear Ashton curse to himself.

"Damn it, she knew that we wouldn't leave either of you unprotected," he states, glancing at his brother who nods.

"What do we do?" Bella asks.

Edward goes to respond when his eyebrow furrow in confusion.

"Wait, she's not alone," he states.

My eyes widen, "what!?"
