Part 13

"There he is", Luke pointing a little boy playing at the school ground

"Damn he really looks like you", Liam commented beside him. They parked their car at a distant trying to be discreet. He told his younger brother about the kid and his brother wanted to see him too

The problem is, the Thomases can't be investigated. No matter how unintimidating the patriarch looks like, Christopher Thomas can block out anything for the sake of his children. They're reclusive family eventhough they're part of the country's market movers.

Only Carl can be seen on the social media site being a celebrity chef but he never shared any personal things there

But Christine Thomas is a predictable woman. He knows how her mind works. Christine Thomas would get a school in a smaller proximity from her work because she felt comfortable that way.

The car sounded that the passenger door opened and true enough his brother is scooting, "Liam, where are you going?"

"I want to see my nephew nearer", Liam yelled. The guy will expose him!

Liam jumped on that small fence of the school easily and he followed when he saw that the security guard nearby was not looking

They found the boy on the swing, smiling widely with his playmate.

Luke paused for a moment, he doesn't know what to do. Liam elbowed him and it helped him in thinking of his next move

"Hi Charlie, is that you?", Luke asked

Charlie faced him, still sitting at the swing not saying anything

"Remember me? Your friend Luke from the office", he said smiling

"You're a stranger", Charlie replied with his index finger on his mouth

"Well, I'm not. Remember we already met. I'm one of your mother's friend", he insisted, squatting in front of the kid

Liam elbowed him again. "A middle aged woman is approaching. Make it faster", Liam hushed

"Charlie, when is your birthday?"

"Are you giving me a gift?", Charlie asked tilting his cute head and he chuckled on that innocent question

"Of course I would"

"It's too early. My birthday's January", Charlie replied

He smiled at that information

"Something wrong here sir?", a middle aged woman appeared at their side and asked

"I'm sorry, you're son is cute. My niece is actually playing somewhere and I saw him", Luke lied

"Oh, where is she?", the lady asked

He searched for an almost real answer but he can't find one

"There", Liam joined in. He pointed to the group of toddlers at a distance. "My daughter", his brother smiled bobbing his head

"She's like you're son she's four", Luke shared. Trying to hid his nervousness in a smile

"Oh, Charlie's turning five this January and he's not my son. I'm only the carer", the old lady said and his fake smile became true. Dianne is right, the boy doesn't count months.

"Jackpot", he whispered as they walk out of the school

"He's a blind hush puppies!", Charlie squeaked
