Visitor from the Future(nalu short)

2- A Dark Future

"W-what? How?"

I stammer out my words and the other Natsu stares at me. A bad feeling starts to materialize in the back of my mind and I can guess his next words before they leave his mouth.

"I came from the future."

I gulp anxiously and my palms become clammy.

"Why? What happened?"

His head tilts to the side slightly and his eyes squint at me from across the room. My hand reaches across my stomach and grabs hold of my arm.

The future Natsu takes a few brisk steps across the room. I tense up and my grip tightens on my arm when he stands a few feet in front of me.

He stares into my eyes and slowly leans in. I divert my eyes away from his and look to the side.

"W-what are you doing?"

He stops a few inches from my face and I slowly return my gaze. His eyes return from their squint to a normal size.

"You're eyes...they're so bright. So full of life."

My grip loosens and my body slackens.

"Thank you?"

I stare at him and he seems to be completely zoned out of everything except my eyes.

"Enough!"

Natsu comes from behind me and puts an arm in front of me. He stares at the future him testily.

"Why are you here?"

The future him stares back for a moment and I get ready to stand in between them, but the future him takes a step back and walks over to the couch. He falls backwards onto it and rests his head in his hand.

"In my time-"

"What exactly is your time?"

My attention snaps away from future Natsu to Natsu, who stares at his future self in aggravation. I take a step towards him to try and diffuse his anger.

"Na-"

"How far in the future are you from?"

I stop and look back to his future self. Natsu's angry right now. He's on edge. He shouldn't be getting angry at him for no reason but he has a reason to be so anxious.

I bite my lip and go sit on the chair that's across from the couch. The future Natsu rubs the back of his neck and lets out a breath of air.

"A couple of years, I think."

I gulp and take a quick glance at Natsu. He comes to stand next to the chair I sit in, but he doesn't sit down.

"So what happened?"

The future Natsu stops rubbing his neck and casts a glance upwards at Natsu. He puts both his hands down to rest in the middle of both of his legs. He clasps his fingers together and sighs deeply before opening his mouth.

"You know Zeref."

"Yeah-"

"Well he's not the problem."

I notice Natsu's fist clenching from the corner of my eye at being interrupted, so I keep Natsu from saying anything by speaking myself.

"Then who is?"

The future Natsu moves his gaze to me and it lingers for a few moments, an unexplainable look stirring in his eyes.

"Soon Zeref dies, but not long after he dies, another person with the curse of Ankhseram comes to light."
