Chapter 3 - Bus Ride from Hell

So we walked into the Museum on guard.It was still thundering.It was all quiet until a mummy shot up.I gasp but we kept walking.All he mummies were alive now and tried to get us but were in glass boxes.We went outside again and kept quiet as we watched the bad guys in red and black pray,bow down and chant circling Imhotep's body.Evy was awake and trying to get free.Imotep arose and he roared.
"Jess whats he sayin?"
Dad said
"Seriously?! Ugh Uhhh Imhotep said what year is is...the Curater said it's the Year of the Scorpion Imhotep said truly and curater said yes"
I said as Imhotep started to laugh evilly. Suddenly the girl from before when she came to my house appeared.I held my head and saw her in Egyptian clothing and all
"Anaksunamun"
I mumbled but got dizzy and fumbled into Ardeth
"Are you alright?"
He asked, I sighed but smiled at him
"I am now"
I said
"Jess translate"
Dad wispered and I sigh
"I'm Anaksunamun reincarnated...Imhotep says Only in body...but soon...I shall bring your soul back from the underworld...and our love shall once again be whole that's so romantic"
I said but Ardeth and Dad looked at me in annoyance.
"Sorry"
I said smiling nervously.
"You know...a couple of years ago...this would've seemed really strange to me"
Dad said as he walked off to save Evy.The girl snapped her fingers and the henchmen grabbed the board where Evy was on.She tried to get off but no use.They walked to the pit of fire
"You wait! I'll put you in your grave again!"
Evy yelled.Dad had snuck off to save her
"Our thinking was not if we put you there first"
Said the Curater.As they were about to throw her, Evy screamed and Dad jumped on the board making them drop it.He picked her up
"That's our Q"
Ardeth said and I smile at him
"Let's do this"
I said and we began to shoot at them.The reincarnated girl of Anaksunamum picked up a thompson and started firing at us.I almost got hit but Ardeth pulled me ontop of him as he leaned on a post for cover.I pulled my trigger it was empty,so was his.We tried to refill as fast as possible, hiding behind a support beam on the balcony that we were on. Ardeth and I moved and tried to shoot at Lock-Nah without getting shot by him.I shot a big box behind the bad guys and it exploded
"Yeah!"
I said with triumph.
"Let's go Jess!"
Ardeth said. I nodded running off.We had Evy.
We stopped seeing Imhotep bring four or so mummies to life and screamed to destroy us. We ran out to the car and as I turn I saw Evy putting a bench in front of the door
"Honey, whatchya doing?These guys dont use doors"
Dad said pulling Evy away.We ran to the car and saw Jonathan and Alex were gone and the doors to the car were locked.
"Where'd they go?!"
I yelled half angry half worried but heard a honk and saw Jonathan pulling up in a double decker bus
"What's the matter with my car?"
Dad said
"Well I was forced to find an alternative means of transportation"
Jonathan said
"A double decker bus?!"
I yell on the bus with Ardeth and Evy now
"It was his idea"
Jonathan said pointing to Alex
"Was not!"
"Was too"
"Was not!"
"Just go!"
Evy yelled
"It was too!"
"Was not!"
Alex practically screamed as he hopped on
"Shut up!! You both did it now shut up and drive!"
I yelled hitting them both in the back of the head.I look back and saw the 4 mummies running after us but they ran over Dad's car and destroyed it completely.
"No!No,not my car!"
Dad said
"Glad to see me now?"
Ardeth said like a smartass
"Just like old times eh boys?"
I said loading my gun.Dad ran to the 2nd floor.
He shot 2 but more kept on coming.
Now they were up high, crawling on the walls after us.My Dad killed one but missed another and it swung in our floor.Ardeth shot its bottom half off until he was gone.We thought it was completely gone but it came back but only the upper half.Ardeth was reloading so he was caught off guard so was I.Ardeth's gun was slapped out of his hand and slammed into a window.I went to shoot but it grabbed my gun and threw it. I tried to punch it but it caught my fist and threw me into the bus seat
"That kinda hurt"
I groaned as it smirked and then its nails grew like 6 inches and went to scratch Ardeth, but I shot up and punched it in the face
"Take that you decaying bastard!"
I yelled making a reach for my gun, but it jumped to me fast and grabbed my by the neck. I took a gasp of air but yelled in pain as he dug his now shortened nails into my neck, and threw me, I fell in the middle of the isle. I instantly felt the worst pain of my life in my throat. Like a sore throat but 1000% worse....poison....
"Turn!Turn!Turn!Turn!Turn!"
Evy yelled and the mummy slammed into the window on the sharp turn.It was about to go after Ardeth but Evy shot it dead...er.I sigh in relief
"Jess!Are You ok?"
Evy asked. I shook my head holding my throat. Ardeth rushed to my side, helping me up.
"It is poison. If we can get to Egypt I can save her, I have the remedies to heal her, but we must act fast"
He said as He sat me down in a seat. I gasp as we ran into a low bridge. Jonathan stopped.Dad came down and looked at Ardeth
"You guys alright?"
He asked but saw I was in pain
"Hey, hey what's wrong with her?!"
Dad asked angry and worried.
"She'll be ok...for about 24 more hours..this poison is slow but painful. I can save her once we get to Egypt"
Ardeth said
"Hang in there okay sweetie?"
Dad said and I nodded in pain.
"This was...my first bus ride"
Ardeth said smiling and then Evy and Rick kissed.
I sigh shaking my head but Ardeth got up and looked into my eyes.
"I am so sorry...I should of protected you better..instead of you protecting me"
Ardeth said guiltily kissing my lips. I smiled gently touching his cheek. I merely kissed him deeply.We started making out.His tongue explored my mouth lovingly.I heard Alex gag as he went to the back of the bus to look at the broken windows.
Next thing I knew Alex was being kidnapped by Lock-Nah!
"Alex!"
Evy and Dad all say in unison.
Dad tried to run after the car driving away with Alex in it but he wasn't fast enough and the bridge was being broken into two.
Dad came back and Alex being my baby brother I felt hot tears fall.
Ardeth pulled me in a hug as I cried.I felt so defeated.
"It will be ok...shhh"
Ardeth said making me calm down a bit
"Do not fear for your son my friends.They can not hurt him,for he wears the bracelet of Anubis"
Ardeth said and Evy looked at Dad with a scowl.
"Alex is wearing the bracelet?"
She asked
"When he put it on he said he saw the Pyramids of Giza,the temples of Karnak"
Dad said
"Yes when we reach Karnak the bracelet will show him the next step of the journey"
Ardeth still held me
"Well,if we don't get to Karnak before them we won't have any idea where to look for him next"
Evy said but Dad looked at me and put a hand on my head gently.
"We need to get Jess healed first..like Ardeth said, they can't kill him, so we have a little bit of time. Ardeth I want you guys to go now and have her healed up by the time we get there... because it seems to me like we need a magic carpet"
Dad said. My eyes widened but I coughed and got weak
"We must go now. We will see you soon my friends. She will be okay. I promise"
Ardeth said scooping me up in his arms and my Dad nodded
"I know she's in good hands"
Dad said kissing my forehead and let Ardeth take me away....
