IN THE NAME OF DELIVERANCE DANE

"WHY IN THE NAME OF Deliverance Dane did you let that thing loose?" The woman exclaimed. Her eyes were wider than the man from earlier when he heard somebody else was trying to open up a bakery, even though it was a clear lie. Porpetina seemed completely exasperated by the entire situation. She had long since let go of both of them as she tried to figure out what exactly was going on. Surely she had seen much worse if she was an auror.

"I didn't mean to," Newt admitted with a small little shrug. It came off as rather shy, which he could be sometimes, but he still remained confident as he continued on. "He's incorrigible, you see, anything shiny, he's all over the place."

Porpetina narrowed her eyes at him. It seemed she wasn't buying the story despite the fact that it was entirely true. If she knew it came from the case then she probably saw it for herself. They never let the niffler out on purpose, but the little platypus-like creature could squeeze it's way through anything he wanted. "You didn't mean to?"

"No." Arethusa answered this time, reiterating the exact same point Newt had just made. Did she not here a word that he had just said? "We didn't."

"So you're not just a witness, you're an accomplice?" While she didn't physically do it, it felt like the woman's eyebrows were going to twitch off judging by her tone of voice. Had she not heard Newt earlier when he said she was his partner? "You could not have chosen a worse time to let that creature loose! Were in the middle of a situation here! I'm taking you in."

"Sorry, you're taking us where?" Newt questioned, looking back up at the woman. She let out yet another exasperated sigh, which was seriously starting to get on Arethusa's nerves, before pulling out her wallet once more. She flipped it open to reveal the same MACUSA ID she had shown Arethusa when she first grabbed her.

"Magical Congress of the United States of America."

"So, you work for MACUSA?" Newt questioned as he studied the ID. He gave Arethusa a rather worried look before looking back to Porpetina, "What are you, some kind of investigator?"

She didn't answer as she pocketed her ID card. She took another moment to regain herself, probably trying to calm herself down. Porpetina seemed very high-strung to Arethusa, despite the fact that she gave off the complete opposite kind of vibes. Not only did she have mustard on her face earlier, but her collar was askew as well. She was either way too focused on them or a laid-back mess. "Can you please tell me you took care of the No-Maj?"

"The what?" Newt tilted his head at her.

"The No-Maj!" She snapped back, giving him another incredulous look. It clearly confused both Arethusa and Newt which only seemed to frustrate Porpetina even more. "No-magic... the non-wizard!"

"We call them Muggles," Newt noted, which didn't seem to help their case at all.

"You wiped his memory, right? The No-Maj with the case?" She questioned once more. Newt only gave her an awkward smile in response. It was typically Arethusa's job, but she hadn't been there to do it, and he wasn't about to throw his companion under the bus for something that wasn't her fault. After all, he had tried to, but the man got away. "Thats a Section 3A, Mr. Scamander. Im taking you both in."

"Uh, sorry, she didn't do anything--" Newt tried to interject, completely ready to hand the case to Arethusa. The last thing he wanted was for her or his creatures to end up in the hands of MACUSA. He didn't trust them in the slightest, and neither did she.

"She's an accomplice," Porpetina's answered flatly, a nice chance from the high-strung exasperation from before. Without any warning she grabbed the pair, pulling them along once more for some side along apparation as they disappeared.

They reappeared on another street seconds later. While Arethusa didn't throw up right away her fair skin had been replaced by a sickly green. The other woman let go of them as soon as they touched on the ground, allowing Newt to help steady his friend. Porpetina still kept her eye on them and beckoned for them to follow her. "Come on."

"Er... sorry, but I do have things to do, actually," Newt tried to reason. As soon as he tried to turn even the slightest bit Porpetina moved behind them, pushing the pair forward to keep them from getting any ideas. Due to MACUSA's sub-par laws in their beast division Newt was harboring many 'illegal' creatures in his case and there was no way in Salazar's shiny bald spot he was going to risk loosing them.

"Well, you'll have to rearrange them," Porpetina countered as they made their way through the streets. She put her hand up, stopping a few cars and leading the groups way through them. "What are you doing in New York anyway?"

"I came to buy a birthday present," It wasn't the entire truth, but it wasn't necessarily a lie either. Yet another one of his signature sheepish smiles made its way onto Newt's face as he looked towards Arethusa. She was too busy trying to wriggle out of her grasp.

"Couldnt you have done that in London?" There was a pause as Newt looked down at Arethusa. He gave her a small little smile and looked back at Porpetina shaking his head at the woman. He then went on to explain: "No, theres only one breeder of Appaloosa Puffskeins in the world and he lives in New York, so no."

"You were going to get me a puffskein?"

"Well, I know how much your face lit up when you saw them in the drawings-- I just figured that you know, maybe it would be nicer for you to look at them in person. We have more than enough room for them,"  Newt explain as they followed behind the woman. They stopped on her command as she approached the door to the building they stood in front of, muttering something to the man.

"Hey," She called out once more, motioning for the two to follow her. They obliged, stepping through the doorway and into what Arethusa presumed was the MACUSA headquarters. The wizarding white house. "By the way, we don't allow the breeding of magical creatures in New York. We closed that guy down a year ago."

Silence fell over the group after that. Even after hearing the news that they were no longer in New York, Arethusa couldn't help but smile. He had remembered that she liked them, and he had planned to go out of there way to get them one on their way to get Frank home. The saying was most definitely right: It was the thought that counts. "Hey, Goldstein."

"Hey, Red," Porpetina greeted the grungy house stationed inside of the elevator. He watched as the three of them stepped in with narrowed eyes. There was an awkward silence for all of three seconds before Porpetina finally told him where they were going.

"Major Investigation Department."

"I thought you was—"

"Major Investigation Department! I got a Section 3A!"

Q: Have you seen the Crimes of Grindelwald yet?

(lol this was first written when it just came out)

It came out on my birthday so I went to see it at midnight (it was my 16 on the 16th) and I was absolutely shook.
