Kiri: Avatar

Kyoshi Island

Kiri's POV

Right now I'm in Zuko's cabin meditating with him in front of lit candles. Father and I thought it was about time he relaxed a little. So I convinced him to meditate with me. He told father not to disturb us unless he had news on the Avatar. We'd been meditating for an hour when father enters the room.

"The only reason you should be interrupting us, is if you have news about the Avatar" Zuko tells him. Not facing my father as he continued to remain calm.

"Well, there is news, Prince Zuko, but you might not like it. Don't get too upset" father tells him.

"Uncle, you taught me that keeping a level head is a sign of a great leader. Now, whatever you have to say, I'm sure I can take it" Zuko assures him in a calm voice. While I back away from him.

"Okay then" Father says stroking his beard. "We have no idea where he is" he states.The flames of the candles suddenly erupt in a fiery mass, brushing the ceiling and obscuring Zuko from sight. Father protects himself from the flames while I take a fan out and fan myself.

"We should really open a window in here" I states.

"Give me the map!" Zuko exclaims snatching the map from father. He unrolls it on the table and examines it. "How am I going to find him Kiri, Uncle? He is clearly a master of evasive maneuvering" he states. I look at the map over his shoulder and laugh quietly.

"No he's not" I state smiling. "He's acting like the kid he is" I tell them.

"What do you mean Kiri?" Zuko asks me.

"Father don't you remember all the things I wanted to do when we first left the Fire Nation?" I ask him.

"Ride hopping llamas?" he asks and I nod my head.

"See they already done that, and the appear to be going North" I state.

"Where will they stop next?" Zuko asks me.

I examine the map checking things off in my head. "Only one place comes to mind. Father never took me there" I state pointing to an island. "Kyoshi Island, home of the giant koi fish" I tell him.

"How quickly can we get there Uncle?" Zuko asks father.

"A day, if the Avatar is there. He would of been there two days by the time we arrive" father states.

"We should be able to catch him as he leaves" I say smiling. "But we have to restock and feed the rhinos first" I state. Before going to feed Miko and prepare my armor fro tomorrow.

(Next day)

A soldier appeared and confirmed my suspicion on the Avatar being on Kyoshi island. Zuko had me prepare the rhinos. While he and father finished dinner. I had already finished mine. We reach the island and mount the rhinos in a our warrior armor. "I want the avatar alive" Zuko tells the six soldiers. Two on each rhino, me on one behind Zuko. Father's back on the ship looking after Miko.

We enter a town that appears to be deserted. Soon we stand at the base of a statue of Avatar Kyoshi. I bow my head in respect to her and Zuko gives me an odd look. But I ignore him. "Come out, Avatar! You can't hide from me forever!" Zuko shouts. "Find him" he orders the soldiers when no one appears.

Before the soldiers could move two are taken off their rhino by Kyoshi warriors. Once tried to take Zuko and I. But Zuko moved the rhino and it whacked her away with its tail. Zuko fires at her, but another warriors knocks the flame away with it's warrior fan. "I have to get one of those fans" I say smiling as I jump over Zuko. Landing in front of the two warriors.

Just then another warriors knocks Zuko off our rhino. "Guess training's over" I hear a guy say. I turn and look closer at the two warriors in front of me before laughing.

"I can't believe you're wearing a dress, wheres a painter when I need one?" I ask laughing. He ignores me and goes to attack my cousin. "Oh no you don't" I say and shot fire at him. He ducks and rolls facing me. I flip over him and land beside my cousin.

We're soon surrounded by Kyoshi warriors. "The avatar is here somewhere, the water tribe boy is one of the Kyoshi warriors" I tell my cousins. He nods his head. We push the warriors back with fire and hand to hand combat.

"Nice try, Avatar! But these little girls can't save you" Zuko states. I shot him a glare, but he ignores me.

"Hey! Over here!" the avatar shouts and we turn to face him.

"Finally" Zuko says and I jump back on a rhino deciding to watch the fight. If he's going to insult girls fighting. Then he can capture the avatar without my help.

Zuko commences by sending two fire balls in the avatar's direction. Who ducks underneath the first and uses his staff to decimate the next fire ball. He rapidly spins the staff over his head, propelling himself into the air. He lands in front of Zuko, who immediately kicks the staff out of his hands.

The avatar jumps up and lands between two warrior fans that are lying on the ground. He stands up and picks up the fans with his air bending. Zuko madly charges the avatar with his fist already held stretched out before him. The avatar spins around a few times to create a bigger momentum and uses the extra power of his swirl to blast Zuko in a nearby house with a strong blast of air.

"Zuko!" I shout jumping off the rhino and running over to him. "You ok cuz?" I ask as I help him out of the house. He nods his head and we notice the avatar leaving on his bison with his friends.

"Back to the ship! Don't lose sight of them!" Zuko shouts. I jump onto the rhino that stayed put.

"Meet you there" I say with a smirk and have the rhino run back to the ship. Once there I tell the helmsmen to prepare to leave. I then notice the avatar jump off his bison into the water. I look at the water. Which begins to bubble and suddenly an Unagi shoots out of the water with the avatar on top of his head, holding his whiskers.

After swaying about a few times, he steadies himself atop Unagi's head and pulls the creature's whiskers. The Unagi opens its mouth wide and begins gushing water which rains over the town. But it also drenched Zuko and his men mounted on the remaining rhinos. Zuko looking angered and his men looking surprised. Unagi ceases to gush water and launches Aang into the air. He is caught by his bison and they fly away.

"Have a nice dip?" I ask smirking as Zuko boards the ship while I pat Miko.

"Did you see which way the avatar went?" he asks me annoyed and I roll my eyes. That's all he talks about these days. Avatar this and avatar that.

"North to the main land of the Earth Kingdom, don't know where he's going next" I say shrugging. "Dry off and get out of those wet clothes before you get sick" I tell him. Before going over to my father and we start to play Pai Sho.
