He says he loves you.
Then he cheats.
You scream and cry.
Asking "how could you?" repeatedly
You beat on his chest, yell in his face,
He feels like you stepped out of place.
He finally has enough.
He hits you.
He hits you.
I watched this unfold through,
my small innocent eyes.
I looked at the man that was once my hero
In horror.
" Daddy how could you?"
How could he do this?
My little mind couldn't comprehend this.
How could he hit mommy?
How could he do this to us?
Daddy is supposed to protect mommy and me
How could he hit mommy?
"Daddy how could you?"
Was all I could say.
I watched in horror,
With tears coming down rapidly.
He said he would never leave.
He said that he would never harm us.
He said he was happy with us.
"How could you?"
