"RUE PLEASE!
GO AWAY!"

Alice pulled at her hair, trying to pull out the scales, but it had embedded in her scalp and was growing like her normal hair.

She ran to the kitchen and cut it out as soon as she possibly could.
And luckily it came out.

This was one of the early signs.
She didn't have long left.
Mabye just over a year before her human form would be no more.

The thought brought tears to her eyes.
If she wasn't going to be here much longer, who will take care of Henry if he's injured.
What about Rue?
What about James?

She crawled back underneath the table and cried.
She thought she would have longer without the extra transformations.
But she was wrong.

She needed to tell someone.
Maybe there was something to slow it down.
Maybe there was some way to cure it.

But who would understand?
Who would want to help her?

There were many people wanting to help the girl, she just wouldn't let them.

And that was for a better reason that you might think.

She didn't want to hurt them in the process.

Henry I don't have long left, I want to see the stars with you before it's too late.

"James, I know your in there" said Rue, tapping lightly on the door.

Ever since their small reunion, Rue has been trying to get James to talk to her again.

But he didn't want to.

He has never believed one word that came out of his father's mouth.
But that thing about how he shouldn't trust Rue, actually made sense.

No one is let out of the Cell that easily, they're not just let go.
She escaped and James was sure of it.

But that wasn't the reason the full reason.
Rue seemed different.
Like she was hiding something, and James didn't trust her.

"Rue, I'd advise you leave me alone and go far away until either you or me figure out what's wrong here!" James said through the keyhole.

"But nothing is wrong James!" she said. "Just let me in!"

James hated shutting her out, but he knew it was for the best.
