Chapter 4| Chit Chat

Remus laughed as he told James that Sirius and him were helping Lily turn into an animagus as well as surprise.

James was astounded. He felt so happy. He was about to say something but just then Laura came in. She looked at James and Lily in surprise but ignored her thoughts for now.

"It's Harry," she said.

Sirius immediately got up when he heard Harry's name, in worry of what happened to him

"what's wrong?" Remus asked his bottom lip quivering

"He's shouting, It looks like he's having a nightmare but I can't calm him down, I can't heal him if I can't calm him down" Laura explained

Sirius's face grew pale and he ran out of the door followed by Remus and James who ran after Harry once Lily put a disillusionment charm on him and her, Lily realized that Dumbledore wasn't there anymore, he must have left while the Marauders were having a moment. Lily shrugged her thoughts away and ran right behind James.

Sirius and Remus were already with Harry when Lily arrived. Lily shuddered, she could hear Harry's screams as she was running towards the room. As Lily entered she saw a raven headed boy with green eyes screaming and tossing and turning. Every once in a while Harry screamed "NOT CEDRIC" and then groan.

Lily's face turned white. She turned around and found out that she can see James since they were both under the disillusionment charm. James went over to Lily and hugged her. She saw that James was crying and she hugged back. Lily then began to take in Harry's image, she could see the marks where Laura put spell on to heal Harry, Otherwise Lily saw that Harry's body was filled with scars. From cuts to bruises, to whip marks. At one point Sirius and Remus made Harry lie on his back because Laura told them too. Lily then gasped, Harry's back was filled with words that were engraved into his skin. Words like "freak", "brat", "useless" and more. Lily choked when she saw that sight. She could feel tears drip from her eyes down to her chin

Pretty soon Laura kicked them all out. They all protested but Laura was firm on her decision. They all went to the living room and sat down. The disillusionment charm was lifted off of James and Lily so Sirius and Remus could talk to them.

"How bad was it before?" James's voice croaked

Sirius remained silent so Remus answered with "He looks better now, When he first came there was a bruise on his eye and his ribs were poking out funnily"

Sirius finally broke down after that and said "I'm so sorry Prongs, I failed you"

James shook his head and said "No, no, no Padfoot, you didn't fail us. You and Moony did more for Harry than we would have thought." Lily nodded her head to show that she agreed

Sirius nodded and then hugged James. "You are the best godfather Harry could ever have," James told Sirius. After a moment they both sat down. They all sat in silence.

After what felt like hours Laura came into the room and said "I have good news and bad news"

"Good news first," Sirius said tired of hearing bad news

"Good news is that he is stable now, I healed him all I can, I healed his burns, whips, marks, ribs etc"

"and bad news?" Lily asked with bated breath

"Well," Laura started nervously

Jk on with the story

"He has PTSD" Laura stated

Lily and Remus gasped while Sirius and James looked confused.

"PTSD stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It's a muggle condition. It occurred after he got out of the maze. He will have negative mood swings most of the time and he will blame himself for it. He may have sudden outburst which I suggest you ignore. He may also have nightmares" Laura explained.

They all nodded and then Laura continued "It also turns out that he hasn't slept in a while so I suggest that you let him rest for now." They all nodded again. Lily and James were however confused but they decided to question Sirius and Remus later.

Later that night

They were all sitting next to a fire when James decided to start questioning his friends.

"Why does he have PTSD?" James questioned

"Prongs, I- I don't know if we are the right people to tell you why. I think that you should ask Harry that when you are allowed to meet him" Remus said sighing.

"Can't you at least tell us something?" Lily said exasperatedly

Sirius sighed and then said "Let's just say that the kid has had a rough time. Ever since the blood wards were activated, Voldemort was after Harry." Lily gasped and started to speak but then Remus said "sorry Lily, you can ask Harry the rest"

Lily groaned in exasperation and was about to remark when James interrupted her saying "Then tell us something else about him. His school life, friends anything"

Remus and Sirius looked at each other and decided that that wouldn't hurt

"He got into Gryffindors quidditch team in his first year!!" Sirius excitedly said

James immediately stood up at that and asked "really?"

Remus nodded and said "I saw him play, he plays seeker, much better than you"

"Hey! I played chaser, you can't compare me to him" James remarked while Lily muttered something that sounded like arrogant toe-rag

(a/n Jk Rowling confirmed that James was a chaser so I'm just gonna say that, idc if it was different in the books and movies, Jk Rowling said so)

Sirius and Remus chuckled noticing how little James had changed. They also noticed that James and Lily had also somehow 'grown' older when they were dead. They were glad, It would have been weird if they would have been in their early 30's and their best friend in his 20's.

They chatted for a little longer about Harry, how Moony taught him a Patronus charm ("Moony a teacher?!?!" James teased). After a while, they all retired to bed. James and Lily went into their room which was painted yellow and had a masters bed in the middle with a bunch of old newspapers in the corner. Lily went into the bathroom to shower while James read the newspapers that were useless since they were from when he was young. James sighed and then went to bed followed by Lily

a/n hey hey hey!! SURPRISE Here is another chapter, ik I said I am dealing with problems and am not posting this week but I will try honest. So sorry for the stupid chapter but I wanted to post for y'all today. Anyways bye. yes it is the weekend and i am going to school tomorrow. yes this is one of the longest chapter i posted.
