[chapter ix]

Slowly and reluctantly, I uncovered my face from the sheets. I blinked, closed my eyes, and blinked again. Streaks of sunlight penetrated the window and blinded me. I rubbed my knuckles onto my lazy eyes, stretching my arms above my head and yawning. Upon waking, I burrowed myself into the warm, soft body before me. I snaked my arm around her slim waist, landing the most gentle kiss I could in the middle of her back.

I felt her shudder as she turned to face me. She giggled as she looked at me. "So you were high last night. Funniest thing ever."

My chuckle sounded more like a hum. "Shut up. That's why your breath stinks." I said playfully. I remember that part of last night and honestly, if it weren't for that brownie I had eaten I couldn't have mustered the courage to do any of this. Although she shouldn't have left it out I'll continue to let her shine with her jokes.

She sucked her teeth and stretched. "Shut the hell up 'cause yours does too." I smirk. When her arm reached over her head of curls, her voluptuous breasts graced the atmosphere. By instinct I pulled her closer and flicked my tongue over her chocolate drop, covering it whole with my mouth like a suction cup and pulling away with a plopping sound.

She exhaled sharply and bit her lip. "Can't get enough of me, huh?" She inquired.

My lips reached to nibble at her neck. "I could never get enough of you. Especially not after last night." Leaving her other breast untended to, I kissed her all the way down to her navel and as she breathed in to speak. I had already started to feast on the first meal of the day.

Although we were late for work, I called Michele and she expressed that if I came in late it was fine and as soon as I got there I could start working. Prince just said that he'd tell Dave that he woke up late which is untrue but none of us really told the truth here.

A great but weird feeling sat in the cavity of my stomach as the car came to a stop. I was nervous to go inside the building but also as I continued to sit here.

"Have a good day, mama." He smirked.

I blushed quietly. "You too." I marveled shyly. My insides started to scream with exhilaration as he curled his finger under my chin, slowly leaning over, capturing my lips with his.

I excited the car, looking back and waving before I walk into the tall building.

"Uh, Miss Thang." I heard Monica humorously call out. We cross paths a lot so it would be implausible to not become friends at some point. Two of my other friends suddenly emerge out of nowhere with grins on their faces. I acted oblivious but, oh, I knew.

"Bitch!" Teyana called out. I never took it offensive because that's her everyday word. She is indeed very playful and I loved every second of it. Especially Tiffany who spoke second to Teyana. Tiffany was the funniest one of the group, Teyana was the serious but jokester person and Monica, Monica was more of the sweetheart and always spreaded positivity which I loved because everyone needs it and everyone needs a friend like her as well as the other girls.

"Yes, bitch, spill the tea. Is he big? How long is it? Is he—,"

"Tiffany, hush with all'at." Monica waved her hand with an unreadable look on her prepossessing features. I chuckle and walk to my office, expecting them to follow in which they did. I shut the door behind them, leaning my head against it.
