"Hell yeah! I wanna go undercover." I said eagerly after Hermione had just informed me of the plan she had come up with - in the middle of a Quidditch game. It had completely slipped my mind that we had another match this week and I nearly missed it... again. — and as weary as I was, I was still completely down to do it. It's not every day I get the perfect opportunity to try something as crazy as this.
"You know, I'm surprised no one has noticed a Slytherin in the Gryffindor stands." I pointed out to Hermione. I hadn't been paying much attention to the game due to Hermione taking her time explaining the full plan for the polyjuice potion. Only moments ago did I learn the reason they were choosing to do this and how they believed Draco to be the heir of Slytherin, which I laughed in her face for. He definitely wasn't.
"Oh, it's not that they haven't noticed you - they definitely have - but the Gryffindor's heard how you slapped Malfoy and found it funny." she grinned fondly, possibly due to recalling the memory. It was the highlight of my year.
"Being an idol is hard." Annoyed would be the last word I would use to describe how I felt - accomplished was the perfect word. Merlin, thank you for giving me the perfect opportunity to slap Draco and get away with it. Hermione rolled her eyes playfully, whilst some Gryffindor students in the background shouted words of praise at me. Love my fans.
"So you in?" Hermione spoke up after I waved at my followers, making them scream in excitement.
I turned to her and grinned as if nothing just happened. "Obviously!" I exclaimed. "The power I'll hold-"
Cutting me off, Hermione quickly inputted, "It's only for the mission! Don't embarrass Pansy."
"Wait-" I said suddenly, looking at her with a dead-serious expression. My heart dropped to my feat. "I have to be Pansy?" I queried, mouth falling open. God, I'm coming up-
"It won't be long, I promise," the Gryffindor quickly added in an attempt to stop me from acting melodramatic. "even though you're in Slytherin, you're not close with Draco. So if you go as yourself he'll be suspicious that you're suddenly talking to him."
I groaned, ready to die. "F-i-i-ne." I cried, throwing my head back dramatically.
Seeing something whiz past me, I glanced down at the pitch - oh, yeah, the game's still on - and saw Harry on his broom trying to escape a rogue bludger that chased after him. It became obvious to me that it had been deliberately tampered with. I wondered why the teachers hadn't done anything and were just watching.
"We should get down there," I announced to Hermione briskly. She agreed and we quickly ran down to where Harry lay sprawled out on the sandy pitch, just narrowly dodging the bludger as it slammed itself into the ground around Harry, trying desperately to hit him.
Just as we arrived at the scene, Hermione pointed her wand forward, shouting, "Finite Incantatem!" The spark shot out from her wand and hit the bludger quickly, making it disintegrate before our eyes. A look nothing short of relief graced Harry's face as he sat up.
Joining his side, I looked at him with worry when I noticed him clutching his arm, looking in pain. "Are you okay?"
"No," he admitted painfully, hunching forwards slightly, his breathing cut his words short. "I think my arm's broken." I kneeled beside him and held his other hand for comfort. His hand had already began to bruise into a darkening shade of purple and blue, and I bit my lip at the sight.
Lockhart pushed through the forming crowd around us, kneeling beside Harry. "Not to worry, Harry. I will fix that arm of yours straight away." He proclaimed confidently, pulling out his wand.
