Kate's POV

Where am I?

My eyes widened in shock looking around the elegant room that was mostly covered in white. The paint of the walls was all white with mouldings of light gray and silver. The furniture, the curtains, and the linens...where am I? In heaven?

Heaven...

My brain started to process. His insanely handsome face and insanely charming ways... his voice still lingered in my ear when he whispered "I'll take you to heaven Kate..."

Heaven, meaning a night of heavenly sinful pleasure.

I felt like I was thrown in hell when I realized that I was totally naked! Oh god, what have I done? I slept with a man I hardly knew.

What if I was kidnapped and held hostage? I could be on an island, or in the middle of the forest. What if he was a serial killer? I could be dead right now!

I scrambled out of the bed, wrapping the blanket around me as I ran towards the huge window. I heaved a sigh of relief when I saw the beautiful skyscrapers outside, the cars in the busy streets, and people rushing to work. I was in the New World Hotel, the area where the bar was located.

No, he seemed like a good guy. He wouldn't harm me.

But the feeling of relief did not last long. My anxiety came back when I remembered what happened in the bar. I was so drunk! The first time that ever happened in my whole life.

What was wrong with me? I don't lose control in drinking. I only drink with my besties in moderation. My behaviour last night was so unacceptable. I behaved like a wild wanton woman and had sex with a random guy.

Dan... I remember his name too well. His name matched his striking good looks. He was like every leading man in every romantic movie, the alpha hero in every romance book, the fairy princesses' Prince Charmings and every girl's knight in shining armour. Dan was like the guy one imagined and dreamed about at nights... Dan... Dan... Dan what?

Oh my god... I didn't even catch his last name. I remembered the drinking, dancing, and making out, then going up in the elevator. Afterwards, I could not recall anymore, especially what happened inside this room.

Where is he?

I looked for him in the bathroom, but he was not there. It was even spotless clean, like nobody has used it yet. I went to the balcony, but there was no trace of him.

Shocks, he's gone! He left without saying goodbye. So what is this, a one- night stand?

My heart hammered really fast, and my blood boiled instantly to the highest point. I could not believe that I was being played!

That damn asshole tricked me! He led me on last night, charmed me, sweetened me with ladies' drinks, and made me believe that there could be something special between us—when all the while he was only planning to get me into bed!

I stormed back in the bedroom and put on my dress and underwear. I saw my handbag on top of the bedside table and immediately went to get it. What shook me was the hundred-dollar bill lying beside my handbag.

A hundred-dollar bill? He left me a hundred dollars? What is this, for sex?

I felt numb, like icy water was poured over me. My hands were shaking, and a lot of things were playing inside my head. He's paying me a hundred dollars for the night of sex? What am I, a whore?

The nerve of that asshole rotten playboy! I was insulted and degraded. I had never been treated like this ever before. He thought I was a whore! And a hundred dollar for a night? That was way too cheap!
