Sportacus huffed out a breath and pondered the question. He was afraid a lot of things but there was one thing that he feared the most, "Failure." he confessed.
"Really?" Dasha replied as if she weren't expecting such a reply.
"You're surprised?" he asked.
"A little, yes. I mean you're a super hero."
"Super heroes are not perfect. We make mistakes."
"I guess I can relate to that too. Especially what happened today." Dasha said resting her chin on her hand remembering the catastrophe.
"It was just one day...it will get better."
"No, things like this happen a lot." she told him with sad eyes. "I'm naturally skittish and nervous."
"I haven't noticed." Spo chuckled. Dasha smiled a bit at his reply. The both of them had such fun talking to each other that they both lost track of time, Dasha looked up at her clock, "Oh dear, its almost nine."
"What?!" Spo almost shouted in surprise. "I've lost an hour of sleep." Sportacus jumped from his stool and looked at Dasha, "I have to get some sleep...goodnight Dasha."
"Goodnight." Dasha smiled at him and walked him to the door and watched him leave. She closed the door and climbed the stairs to her bedroom. She changed into her robe and sat at her table looking out at her new home, A perfect place for an exiled ballerina, disowned by my old home and welcomed into another. Dasha Antoinetta Mason will not exist to the real world anymore. She told her self in her thoughts. Her past was behind her now, the past full of empty promises and opportunities. Her future looked a lot more bright. No one knew who she was here and she wanted to keep it that way.Dasha awoke the next morning hearing the kids play in the park. She looked over at her alarm clock, eleven in the morning.
"Shouldn't they be in school?" she asked herself ruffling her messy red hair, her eyes shot open wide, "Shouldn't I be at school?" Dasha jumped out of bed and ran a comb through her hair, "I can't be late for school. Not after what happened yesterday."
She darted out of the house and started running to the school. She stopped once she saw the mayor, "Oh! Hello Dasha!" Milford waved to her and she approached him at the fence outside his home, "Good morning mayor. Aren't the kids supposed to be in school?" she asked him looking out again at the kids who were happily playing in the sun.
"Hasn't anyone told you? The kids only go to school Monday through Thursday every week."
"That's strange, why take away a school day."
"Sportacus worked out a system with Bessie and I that helps gets the kids to play more and work in school longer."
"You mean, they work a lot harder during the school week to get to play?"
"Yes, its highly effective...mostly because all of the kids adore him."
"Well, I get a day off. Unexpected...but appreciated. Thank you Mayor."
"You're welcome Dasha."
Stephanie came running to Dasha and greeted her with a beaming smile, "Good morning Miss Mason."
"Good morning Stephanie."
"What are you doing today?"
"I was hoping to get familiar with the town since I have an extra day off."
"Do you want me to give you a tour of the town?"
"That would be lovely. Thanks Stephanie."
The two were off through the town and Stephanie told her everything about the history of the town to the buildings and what they were made for. Stephanie had such an energy taking her through the town, Stephanie looked like she enjoyed herself. She led Dasha to the market where they bought all of their fresh food. Stephanie was so excited that Dasha tried really hard to keep up with her, she ended up bumping into a tall thin man. "Ouch! Watch where you're going!"
Dasha was taken aback from his rude comment. Robbie was out on a stroll, trying to find ideas for his latest prank. After he was done dusting off his house coat that he still had on, he looked up at he culprit that had the nerve to run into him.
"I'm Sorry Mr?"
"Rotten, Robbie Rotten...who are you?" Robbie asked with a quizzical brow.
"Dasha Antoinetta Mason. Its nice to meet you Robbie Rotten."
"Yeah, whatever. It isn't so nice when someone bumps into me while I'm wearing my one of a kind house coat...its all wrinkled now."
"I said sorry, what in the world do you want me to do about your outdated jacket?" Dasha bit back.
"Oh I could say the same thing about your hair! Ariel called, she wants her hair back."
"What do you do with yours? Do you get it done at the glue factory?" Dasha was now getting angry, what was this man's problem. Robbie almost gasped when he heard her remark and he tried quickly to think of another comeback, "Four eyes."
"Butt chin!"
Stephanie caught up with Dasha to see that she was in an argument with Robbie. Stephanie stepped in and stopped the heated verbal war, "Robbie? don't you have some cake to eat?"
"No, but I do have a mermaid I have to throw back into the ocean." he glared at Dasha.
"I'd like to see you try string bean!" Dasha said clenching her fists.
"Stop! Robbie, is this any way to treat a new resident in Lazy Town?" Stephanie asked him a bit amazed at how sharp his rudeness was this morning. Robbie's eyes got wide, "Poison Ivy is staying here?"
"You know, one more comment about my hair and your pants will have their own zip code!"
"Welcome to Lazy Town Jessica Rabbit."
