Dasha tried her best to keep her eyes from gravitating to his abdominal muscles. An awkward silence filled the room like a silent winter day.
"I'm going to run home and get another shirt, I'll be back." Sportacus hesitated before he sprinted out the door and up into his ship, "Door!"
The door opened and he lept into his home, "What is that smell?" Sportacus sniffed around a bit until he finally realized that the fishy smell was coming from him, "Oh my, I better take a shower."
Spo stepped into his bathroom and hung his dirty costume on the hook outside his shower. He let the water fall down his back letting the whole shower fog up with steam. He reached back to feel the bandage that Dasha had so perfectly covered, he couldn't help but smile when he remembered his feat and the favor returned for it. He knew already that Dasha was going to be a good friend of his. Once his shower was done, he leapt out the shower with a bit of zeal.
He slipped into another suit and unconsciously sprayed on some cologne, "Huh?" Sportacus exclaimed. He only wore his Sandalwood cologne on special occasions. Why did he spray it on now? He looked at himself in the mirror a bit confused, "It does smell great." he shrugged. He stuck on his hat and headed back into town.
Dasha stared into the washing machine, not exactly knowing how to wash Spo's shirt. She tried looking for a tag a few times to figure it out but there was none.
She turned it around in her hands for a while examining every hem and stitch of the blue and white fabric and sticking her hands into the small bloody hole where the debris entered his skin. Sportacus quietly entered her home and spotted her in the wash room admiring his shirt. He came up from behind her, "You wash it with cold water." he said making Dasha jump.
"You really need to stop doing that." she told him putting the shirt into the washer, Sportacus stopped her for a moment, "The crystal isn't washer safe." he said pulling it out of its slot and smiling at her 'deer caught in the headlights' face.
"Why are you so jumpy all of the time? Is there a story behind that?" he asked her.
"Being bullied by ballerinas might not sound threatening to you but its entirely frightening I assure you."
"Who was it that you told me about earlier? Clara?" Sportacus knew that something was going on a but deeper in Dasha. She shown it on her face and displayed it every time she had a fright.
"Yes, Clarisse Elizabeth Mason."
"Wait...you mean-"
"My sister. You assumed correctly... Clara was my sister." Dasha confessed. Sportacus was appalled, how could her own sister hurt her like that?
"I'm so sorry, Dasha."
"Don't be, I was adopted. At least I'm not truly related to her...that would be a nightmare." she laughed a bit and looked up at him once more, his face didn't change. "My parents gave me up and Clara's adopted me. Clara and I grew up together but she was the worst sister in the world to me. She always got me in trouble and..."
"Did they hit you?" Sportacus asked. She didn't answer but her tears gave him his answer.
"I'm sorry..."
"What ever for, Dasha?" he said clasping her shoulders.
"I don't know, its like...every time I talk to you, I confess something that I have hidden for years." Dasha gasped out a breath. "Why am I telling you all of this?"
"Maybe its because I am the only one that has asked." Sportacus didn't think twice about embracing her, "I am so glad that I have asked you."
"Thank you Sportacus." She said against his shoulder. He smiled a little and held her tighter, "For what?" he teased a little, he could feel her smile against his chest, "For asking me." she pouted. Dasha didn't want to let go of him, he was so gentle with her and she felt as if she were addicted to such a gentle touch.
"Why did she treat you so terribly?" he led her to the couch so she could relax a bit, she took a breath and leaned back on the sofa, "Clara always wanted to be a ballerina. I looked up to her but all she saw was an annoying little sister. I eventually fell in love with Dancing and her and I got into ABC. I ended up getting starring rolls and she grew jealous of it."
"What about your parents? Was the hatchet buried once you grew up?"
"Yes, but it was worse. Once they..." Dasha stopped herself for a second. She wasn't sure how much she wanted to confess to her new friend.
"Come on, spit it out. I can see by your face that you're holding something back. What is it?"
"They wanted my money that I made every time I did a show. Clara didn't give them enough so I decided to tell them exactly what I thought about them trying to mooch their way into my bank account."
"What did you say?"
"I'm not your daughter and its not your money. I broke all ties from them ever since...Except Clara who was a constant reminder of my past."
"Dasha, have you forgiven them for what they have done? I think it would make you feel a lot better."
"I'm afraid of what they would say. I've tried to contact them before but they moved. I don't know where they are."
"What about Clara? Maybe she knows where they are. Write to her and see what happens. Do you want me to help you?" Spo's crystal went off and he looked a bit disappointed, "I'll be right back."
"No worries Sportacus, I'll be fine here."
Dasha gave him a hug as he departed and she moved to the counter to write he sister a letter.
My Dearest Clarisse,
I know that when I left we left some old wounds open and we didn't see eye to eye. I am writing to heal those before anything gets worse. I am sorry that we didn't have a good sisterly relationship and that we fought more than we loved each other. No matter how much you detest me and the things I do, I still love you and you're still my sister. I want everything to be reconciled between us, I forgive you for the things you and our parents did in the past. I just hope that you can do the same for me.
Always your sister,
Dasha Antonietta Mason.
She wiped away the last of her tears and stuffed the letter in an envelope. She sort of expected that Sportacus would be sidetracked with the children who were outside playing with him. She liked to see him play with the kids, it reminded her that he had a good heart towards everyone, not just her.
"Hey Dasha!" Stephanie came running up to her as she stuck the letter in the mailbox. "How are you? Are you okay from this morning?"
"Yes, thanks for your concern. Sportacus got a little hurt though, he has a scratch on his shoulder."
"Oh, he's fine though right?"
"Yes, of course." she looked over at Sportacus who was laughing and playing with the other kids. "He looks fine to me."
"Come on, do you want to play with us?"
"Well...I'm not supposed to spend time with my students outside of class."
"Who told you that?" Stephanie asked confused.
"it's the rules where I come from."
"You're in Lazy Town now, there's no rule in the book like that here." She told her. Dasha pondered a moment and nodded, "Okay, What are we playing?"
Stephanie looked over and saw all of the kids running around in the park, "I think we're playing tag."
"Fun. Let's go." Dasha darted from the mailbox and Stephanie followed her into the park, "Who is it?" she asked everyone. Sportacus piped up, "I am."
"Holy crap." Dasha didn't wait for Stephanie to catch up for Sportacus was already on her heels. Dasha tried to shake him off by circling the tree but he only sped up. She turned sharply but it didn't throw him off. He was just about to grab her when she spun around to dodge his grip but she fell and Sportacus tripped over her.
"OUCH!" Dasha laughed out. She didn't care how hard he landed on her, she was too busy laughing. Sportacus chimed in on the laughter when she found out that she was alright from him landing on top of her.
"I believe that makes you it now." he helped her up and her face was lit up with a smile. She poked him in the side and ran from him again, "Nope, you're it."
"Hey! You cheated." He started chasing her again but this time Stephanie caught up with him, "Run Dasha. He's right behind you."
"Distract him!" Dasha huffed. Stephanie jumped on his back and covered his eyes to get him to slow down. Sportacus stopped and crossed his arms, "It seems to me that I have been ambushed."
"What? A hero like you can't handle us?" she chirped taking her hands away from his eyes.
"No, I didn't say that." Spo spun Stephanie around until she became dizzy and loosened her grip on him. He stopped and she fell to the ground, "Does this mean I win?" Dasha came up beside him.
"There's no winning in tag."
"Really, I think I did a pretty good job of shaking you off my tail." Dasha panted out.
"With a little help from pinky." he said crossing his arms. Dasha helped Stephanie up and shook her hand, teasing Sportacus, "Its been nice working with you."
"Likewise."
Sportacus rolled his eyes, "The sass is really rich from you two."
"Oh, now don't be sour Sportacus. Besides, I like to call it class." Dasha said. Sportacus had a look of mischief on his face and Dasha didn't quite like it, "Two can play at this game."
"Actually, its three. I think you miscounted."
Sportacus put a wary hand on his face and shook his head. The girls giggled at his frustration, "What's so funny huh?" he said tickling Stephanie until she squealed. He looked over at Dasha poking her in the side repeatedly getting her to squirm, "You're it!"
Dasha poked him back, "No, you're it!"
Spo stood upright and placed his hand on his hips as if he were going to reprimand her misbehaving, "Then why aren't you running?"
"On second thought, I'm tired. You can run this time." she said seating herself on top of the park wall.
"That's what I've been doing!" he said.
"Doing what?" Dasha heard a voice behind her.
"Robbie. How's the permanent wedgie going?" Dasha teased. Sportacus snorted from her comment.
"I see you have met." he said trying not to laugh.
"Yes, Strawberry short cake is just a delight to be around." Robbie said sarcastically.
"I'm sure I am, you like cake after all."
"That hair can't be natural."
"I was just about to say the same thing to your extended butt crack back there. Pull your pants down a bit." She said looking at Robbie square in the eyes.
"At least I don't dye my hair with cherry soda."
"I don't Mr. Peanut." she jumped off the wall and leaned forward and whispered, "I dye it with the blood of people who try to outwit me."
Robbie's eyes shot open wide with fright, "I got to go." Robbie ran back to his lair and Dasha giggled, "Bye Gumby!"
"What did you tell him?" Spo said witnessing at how fast Robbie was running.
