"Go Edinson!" Mia screamed at the top of her lungs as Cavani dribbled down the left flank. The crowd was going crazy. Paris was up 2-1 to supposedly the best team in the world. It was the 89th minute and things were getting heated. Barcelona wasn't giving up. Edinson tried beating Gerard but Geri successfully stole it from him. The stadium groaned.
"Ugh, Geri!" Mia yelled, even though a smile was plastered to her face.
Mia heard a loud whoop from behind her and she instantly knew it was Shakira.
"Darn! Pique!" Joana yelled waving a fist at the field.
Mia giggled and Joana chuckled. Barcelona had control of the ball now but Paris was defending well. Neymar was still pissed off at Lionel and he was showing it. As Leo was dribbling and doing his magic, Neymar sprinted back to defend and almost plowed him over but successfully got the ball. He passed it to Kylian who dribbled down the left flank with the ball with only Sergi Roberto to beat. The stadium erupted with cheers. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Leo plop on the ground and slam his fist into the ground out of anger. Mia giggled at the sight.
Unfortunately Sergi Roberto got the ball and toe poked it out. The AR announced there to be 3 minutes of overtime.
"Let's go boys! You got this!" screamed Mia.
"Tu as ça!" Joana hollered.
Dani quickly threw it in to Edinson and Edi passed it back to Thiago Silva. Paris was only playing possession and it was frustrating Barca. With a minute left to go, Edinson got the ball and passed a marvelous ball towards Kylian. Mia looked over at the ref and he had the whistle in his mouth. Kylian beat one then two defenders. He crossed it to a waiting Edinson and Neymar. It landed perfectly at Edi's feet and everyone held their breath. He turned and shot and...GOOOOAAAAAAL!
Mia swore she was the first one to stand up and scream histerically. Joana belted out a lot of Spanish words. Mia had tears in her eyes but she noticed him running towards her. He made a heart sign with his hands and pointed right towards her and Mia's heart fluttered and she grinned. But he kept coming. He was running right towards her with arms open wide. A split second before he jumped into her arms (more like she jumped into his arms) she threw her arms up and Edinson brought her gently onto the pitch. The boys were coming to celebrate and distantly Mia heard the final whistle. But she didn't care. All she cares about was Edinson's lips coming closer to hers. Without a care in the world, she melted into him and kissed him passionately. She heard people screaming her name and the sound of cameras clicking away but all that mattered was the man in front of her. After they broke apart, Edinson grinned sheepishly. Mia said, "Good goal, Mr. Cavani!"
Edinson smiled and grabbed Mia's hand to celebrate with the rest of the guys. Mia was getting some sweaty hugs and kisses on her cheek. She saw Joana celebrating with Dani and waved at her. Joana raised her eyes brows and gave her a thumbs up. Mia smirked but soon tore her attention to Neymar who wouldn't let go of Mia's arm.
"Good job, Ney." Mia told her brother.
Neymar smiled and turned to Edinson and winked before adding, "Good catch, Edi but I'm not ready to be a uncle!"
Mia smacked Neymar's arm and let go of Edinson to chase Neymar around as the boys laughed. Mia stopped and laughed too as Neymar pretended to be scared. Mia looked behind her shoulder and noticed that Kylian was kind of standing lonely in the middle of the noisy stadium. As the boys started walking in the tunnel Mia jogged over to Kylian and asked, "Is there something wrong?"
Kylian blushed and shook his head.
"No no I'm just glum Alicia wasn't here to celebrate with me like Edi has you."
Now it was Mia's turn to blush. As they walked in the tunnel Mia patted his arm and said, "I bet she's super proud of you, Ky. You did fantastic."
Kylian grinned but then looked sad. He shook his head muttering, "She probably didn't even watch the match."
Kylian looked glum and Mia awkwardly walked beside him. In front of her Edinson had turned around and called for her.
"One sec, Edi!" She called back as she turned to Kylian and asked quickly, "So what was it you wanted to talk about?"
He shook his head and tried looking happy as he said, "I was just asking about you and Edi but I know now!"
Mia grinned and hugged Kylian before jogging up to Edi and saying loudly, "Good job Kylian!"
Edinson wrapped an arm around Mia as they walked by the locker room. Mia gulped as they walked by a closed Barcelona locker room. She heard loud voices that she couldn't mistake. She shuddered and Edinson asked, "Mia, are you alright?"
Mia tried smiling and answered sweetly, "Of course."
Just as they were walking past the door it slammed open and out walked two people, Phillippe Coutinho and Lionel Messi. Mia started breathing fast but she held onto Edi tightly. Leo saw Mia but just stormed past her as Edinson grew frigid.
"He won't hurt you. It's okay." Edi whispered.
Mia looked up at him with a mouth open and asked, "What-how do you know about him and me?"
Edinson only shrugged.
"I looked you up. You're his ex girlfriend."
Mia knew that Edinson didn't know the full story and she wasn't going to share it anytime soon. The tunnel was pretty private now other then the chants from up above. Phillippe looked at Mia and asked, "Mia how're you?"
Mia grinned at Phillippe and hugged him before answering, "I'm fine. Good goal today, Phil."
Mia saw that Edinson had suddenly gone frigid and she turned to Edinson and explained, "He's Brazilian."
Phil smiled his dashing smile and waved to Edi before heading into his locker room after kissing Mia on the cheek.
"Does everyone kiss you?" Edi asked.
Mia blushed. Edinson looked around and after not seeing anyone he wrapped Mia up in a tight hug and said, "Mia, I know we just met but it feels so right. Besides the world just saw us together so there will be questions. I'm in love Mia. With-with you. Mia I love you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Edi, I love you so much. And yes I'll be your girlfriend."
As Mia and Edi kissed Mia felt like she was being watched. When they tore away Mia turned and almost screamed. Leo had been watching with hatred in his eyes.
