Chapter 16: Betrayed

Renegade's POV

I polished my rifle as we arrived at our destination. I looked up at Smoke and Kapkan glaring at each other. Both looked like they were going to fight at a moments notice. I turn my attention to the front seat where Havoc and Blaze sat, driving us to our destination. Suddenly, I heard Smoke and Kapkan rise up from their seats.

Kapkan: "Are you looking for a fight?"

Smoke: "I'd gladly love to run your bloody head into the ground again."

I quickly ran in between the two to prevent them from attacking each other, letting out the frustration that I kept inside the entire trip.

Renegade: "Stop you two! On a mission, can't you put your differences aside? You two are on the same team, fighting a common enemy and here you are fighting like a couple of children! How about you two grow up and act like how a highly trained operator should."

Smoke backed away and regained his composure.

Smoke: "You are right. Sorry about that mate."

Kapkan: "What do you propose we do then?" He said in a snarky fashion.

I glare back at him. I wasn't in the mood to be messed with.

Renegade: "I say we put our differences aside and work as a team. We all have someone that we want to return to. I have a wife and unborn child to return to and I wish to return in one piece."

Kapkan: "None of us really care about what you wish. You are just another soldier like the rest of us." He said before stepping out of the truck.

Smoke: "Just ignore him mate. And I will make sure we both return home in one piece. I now have Olivia just like you have Tina."

Renegade: "Thanks mate. Glad to know you have my back. Just know I have yours too."

Smoke: "I've known that since we first met when we were young lads."

The two of us exited the truck and glanced at Havoc and Blaze. Both readied their weapons and approached the building. We break open the door and scanned out the room. No hostiles were in sight.

Blaze: "Nothing?"

Havoc: "Perhaps they are scouring other parts of the building. I think splitting up could help us cover more ground."

Blaze: "I'll go with you Havoc. I take it that Renegade and Smoke will pair up?"

Smoke: "Who else would I be with?"

Renegade: "Same here."

Kapkan glared at the two of us, leaving him as the sole soldier who would probably go alone.

Kapkan: "I'll go alone. I can take care of myself."

Havoc: "Now that we have that settled, let's move. The quicker we deal with this threat, the sooner I can get my ass back to joking around with the others."

I crept up the stairs with Smoke covering our six. Our mission wasn't really clearly stated to us, so I remained hesitant as to why we are here. Me and James assumed that it was to eliminate the enemy inside this building, but Blaze and Havoc assumed that the enemy was holding a high valued target inside.

I looked around the area above the stairs for any hostile movement. Smoke moved up and signaled me over. He began to pick a lock with his knife.

Smoke: "Give me a moment. Just gotta unlock the door here. Would you mind checking over there for any signs of life?" He asked, pointing towards the other end of the hallway.

Renegade: "I'll be right back."

I sprinted down the hallway, looking around for any signs of life that could be hostile. All I found was a closed door as I turned the corner. I quietly opened the door and entered the massive room, ducking behind cover as I scanned around. There was no one in the room besides me. I suddenly felt a chill run down my spine as I was quite a distance from Smoke.

Renegade: "Why do I feel like I am being watched?" I said quietly to myself.

The next few seconds, I felt pain rushing through me as I felt my leg get shot. The sound of a gunshot filled my ears as I kneeled down on the floor.

???: "You shouldn't have done that you son of a bitch." I heard someone say.

I looked around and saw Kapkan gripping his PMM sidearm. He started to slowly approach me.

Kapkan: "Here to think I would've caught a rat, but it seems I caught a lion instead."

Renegade: "You set up a trap...for me?"

Kapkan: "Not for you specifically, but for your bastard of a mate. However...I can make this work."

Renegade: "You...bastard." I reply, trying to hold off the pain.

Kapkan: "Is this how you would treat me? You make it seem like I am a traitor." He said, sarcasm detected in his voice. "How about you get up and show me how much of a man you are."

I tried to stand up, but the pain was too much as the amount of blood loss caused me to fall down again.

Kapkan: "How disappointing, but I suppose this is a suitable punishment for stealing Tina from me." He replied, aiming his sidearm at my head. "Say goodbye to your precious life."

He shot me again, but missed my head and hit my shoulder. I grunt from the pain as blood began to drip out into the floor.

Kapkan: "Dammit, it seems my injury saved your ass. Consider yourself a lucky bastard. Perhaps I shall give you a punishment that will make you suffer before your death." He fires at a few gunpowder barrels, causing sparks to ignite in the room and causing the room to set on fire.

Kapkan: "You have six minutes to escape here if you wish to live. Otherwise, the flames will burn you alive. Since I know you are intelligent, I'm sure you will escape very easily even with your injuries." He said sarcastically as he begins to leave the room. "And don't worry, I'll tell Tina you died valiantly and that you loved her until your final breath."

His voice faded as he left. I laid there, powerless to save myself. The pain was too much.

Renegade: "Tina...I'm sorry. I will never forget the days we spent together as they were some of the best of my life.  Please keep me in your heart forever." I said, closing my eyes and accepting my fate.

Frost's POV

I started to watch Yumiko and Emma train against one another in CQC while Maseru, Mark, Sébastian, Monika and Mike were placing bets on who would win. The sparring kept increasing in intensity with each slash of a knife. Suddenly, I felt a small amount of fluid flowing down my pussy along with a small popping inside me.

Tina: "Guys." I tried getting everyone's attention.

Thatcher: "What is wrong?"

Tina: "My water just broke."

Everyone just stared at me with surprised looks.

Hibana: "We need to get you to Doc!"

Twitch: "That means the baby is coming!"

Hibana grabs my hand and rushes to the infirmary with Twitch, Echo, Buck and Thatcher in tow. It was finally happening. The baby is finally going to be born into this world. I was both excited and scared at the same time. If only Cole was here to witness it.

A/N: Alright, I know I said that this was going to be the final chapter but I came up with an idea that might be very interesting to add into the story. Don't worry, this story will be roughly 2-3 chapters longer not counting an epilogue. Anyways, sorry for the wait and I hope you don't mind that I will be extending the story a little bit. Anyways, I'll see you later.
