My most recent plot idea!

The marker survives the destruction of Aegis VII and returns to the Ishimura, but revives Nicole. Not as a mindless drone, but as a human with the abilities and physiology of a necromorph. She then, her mind changed to notice human traits in necromorphs, decides to lead them as a race to defeat humanity, and retrieve her king (Issac)!

Changes

Issac is treated like a hero and humanity fears the markers rather than worship them after Issac uploads a video of what his RIG recorded on the Ishimura.

The Ishimura and Valor are abandoned, for fear of the necromorphs stowing away on a ship.

Necromorphs simply lie motionless without a signal, rather than break down.

Necromorphs were only violent from being manipulated by the hivemind.

The marker's conscience was in a coma until the hivemind's death.
