C H A P T E R 37

—daniel's pov—

the 5 days quickly flew by, it would be another month until we get the next month and a half off, but on the other hand, i'm ready to get back on stage and perform. jack, zach, jonah, nova and i took an uber to lax to catch our early 4:15 flight. after getting on the car, jack, jonah and i takes quietly since zach and nova fell asleep.

once getting to the airport, we thanked the driver before shuffling out to retrieve our luggage. after getting through security, we were met with a crowd of fans. we then spent the next 10 minutes talking and taking pictures with them before heading to our gate.

'you think they noticed me' nova asked as she adjusted her sunglasses and hoodie

'i don't think so, but a couple of them may have' i reply as i wrap an arm around her shoulder

she sighed as she leaned into my chest, 'i know some of them can be a handful, but please don't let anything they say get into your head. they don't know you and they shouldn't be saying all those rude comments' i state kissing her head

'i know' she quietly mumbled, a small frown plastered on her face

apparently a couple days ago, someone had spotted them walking on the beach, hand in hand and the picture and multiple videos quickly spread. it lead fans on a full on search to find who the girl was and finally, they found nova's page. many fans left some kind comments while others left a couple nasty comments. it was sad to see nova frown at the fact that many fans had it out for her, but i had to remind her that there were some who loved her and that after a while, they'll learn to appreciate her as much as i did.

'flight 286 going to dallas, texas from la now boarding' the intercom stated

'let's go baby' i whisper into her ear as we grabbed our stuff and headed onto the plane.

nova sat by the window, i sat in the middle and jonah sat in the aisle seat and zach and jack got 2 seats in the aisle next ours. after taking off i looked over to nova to see her looking out the window, watching the clouds zooming by. the sun began to rise over the horizon bringing color to the once dark clouds. a small smile arose on her face as she watched the sunrise.

'beautiful isn't it?' i ask her as i lace our fingers together

'yeah, i never thought a sunrise from above was so beautiful' she stated, ' you know, maybe today won't be so bad after all' she continued before leaning away from the window and resting her head against my shoulder.

'i know it won't' i replied as she smiled into my hoodie

the plane landed in dallas a couple hours later, we met up with corbyn at baggage claim and headed out to the uber that waited for us outside. once we got into the car, we all discussed our plans for the evening, zach was going back to his old neighborhood to hang out with friends, jack, corbyn, and jonah wanted to explore the town and nova wanted to take it easy and just relax. al the guys settled into their own rooms as nova and i headed to our room. when nova pushed open the door, she ran straight to the bed and flopped down onto it. i chuckled as i closed the door and set our stuff near the bed before lying down next to her

'these next couple months are gonna be crazy' i stated as i looked at nova

'and i can't wait to be by your side through it al' she replied as she smiled at me

we laid on the bed for a couple hours and just talked about everything, it was refreshing to just talk to someone about everything and not feel like i'd be judged for anything. after a while, we decided to head out for some food at around 5 or so and once the uber dropped us off at a plaza, we strolled around a plaza before deciding to eat at chipotle. while we ate, i looked out the massive windows that lined the front of the store.

'what's up?' nova asked as she ate her bowl

'after we're done, you wanna rent a car and drive somewhere?' i ask

'like what we did in la a long time ago?' she questions

'yeah' i reply with a smile

'let's do it then' she smiled back
