mary's voice rings through the vanderwoodsen home, catching the attention of the young bass man on the couch.
he grins and waves a hand at her, filing through paperwork for a new deal he had on the table.
"right, okay, aye— speak to you later. bye, bye, goodbye—" she rolls her eyes, making chuck snort with laughter. "love you, bye."
she hangs up quickly, dropping her phone on the sofa next to the boy, followed by herself. her head falls back and she reaches up to rub her temples.
"long day?" chuck asks, typing on his laptop.
"mhm," she nods, groaning. "is it too early to go to bed?"
chuck laughs. "afraid so."
"shit," she sighs, defeated. "a nap'll do."
"or we could go eat," chuck glances up at her. "my treat."
mary opens one eye to look at him. "can that treat be chinese?"
chuck raises a brow. "i was picturing something more... high-end."
mary nods. "right, sorry. still not used to this whole life."
chuck shakes his head, staying silent for a moment. "or... we could stay in and order pizza here? watch a movie?"
