FROSTBITE

A|N This is an original collection.
Also, there might be some errors as this is a rough draft, and my first crack at poetry.
Now that's out of the way....
I do hope you like it.

His lashes were dotted with snowflakes,

His breath slowly puffing out,

His toes were frozen, his fingers frosted,

A wonder he still stood on his feet,

Maybe if he could find an alley somewhere,

Shelter against the sleet, against the cold,

It won't help much he knew,

Probably die much slower,

What choice did he have?

No shelter, and no family, no love,

Curled up stiffly against a wall,

No point moving on, no cause nor motive,

Frostbites, sleet and snow,

He could feel himself slipping away,

He did not care, he was leaving for somewhere better,

A place with love and happiness

A place with the possibility of the mythical happily ever after,

Gelid, icy, frosty wind,

He was at peace,

That morning in February,

A little boy was found dead.
