We looked into each other
Seeking acceptable answers
Both expressing nothing but sadness
Just a pure madness
We ask ourselves where did it went wrong
Who was at fault all along?
Can't look without getting hurt
Gulping the words we couldn't blurt
What happened to us?
"I love you" was our favorite among all
For each time you spit it-
I unconsciously fall
It's a mystery I couldn't out wit
But today you said it again, "I loved you"
I was about to say it too-
But my heart pounded quickly
It felt wrong erratically
Because what you said was in past tense
It now fully made sense
Funny how a letter could baffle
Such a marvelous notion
It's like winning raffle-
But ends up getting stolen.
