High school monster

Morph

I closed my eyes, trying to make it happen. It might not work and I knew that, after all, I haven't done this since I was 7. I took another deep breath and tried to clear my mind of everything but one thought. Slowly I felt it, I could feel my 'claws' growing, I could feel myself shrinking. I opened my eyes I walked over on four paws to a mirror. Staring back at me was a small black and purple Furry fox/cat/wolf creature. I honestly could never decide what animal I was closest to. My ribs were still broken and still hurt but I could deal with it a bit better. I knew in about 5-6 weeks my ribs would be just fine and I could carry out my plan, however I would Probably have to do my plan before my ribs were healed. I stayed in my animal form and quietly trotted downstairs. It was painful but slightly better since I was not in my human form. I was quite proud that I had managed to change. I reached the last step and saw Hannah on the couch on her phone. I limped over to Hannah and rubbed my head against her leg. She looked down at me, startled at first, The she chuckled.
"Hello Tom, haven't seen you like this is a while." She said picking me up gently. I let out a small whine because my ribs hurt.
"Sorry" she apologized lifting me onto her lap and stroking my head.
"You feeling better?" She asked. I couldn't talk in this form so I simply shook my head in response.
"I'm sorry" she said. I curled up in her lap and fell asleep with her petting my head. It was nice to be in this form, I was small and furry and people usually treated me like a dog or cat even if they knew I was human. It was comfortable.

I woke up a few hours later but Hannah was gone. I didn't feel like changing out of my animal form so I just stayed like this. I was quite small in my animal form, only about a foot or so if I was standing, and that was from my paws to the tips of my ears. I had a bit of trouble getting off of the couch as for me it was now a long far jump and with my broken ribs it hurt a lot. I walked around then after a hour or two I decided to change back to my humanish form. I went to my room and laid on my bed. I pulled out my phone and watched some movies on Netflix. Eventually it was night and Hannah came back to check on me.
"Hey, you hungry bud?" She asked me.
"No, not really"
"Ok then" she said she came over and pulled the blanket around me tucking me in. I swatted her hand away.
"I'm fine" I growled at her.
"You know, I think I liked you better as a little animal" she joked. I simply grunted back and turned around.
"Good night" she said turning around. I heard her open the front door and her car drive away leaving the house before I fell asleep.

I woke up and made my way downstairs. I remembered to turn off my alarm clock last night so that luckily didn't wake me up at 6. It was about 10:30 am but Hannah wasn't there. I found a note on the counter saying that she wasn't coming today and to not burn the house down or get caught by animal control. I chuckled at the last part because when I was younger, about 7, I had turned into my full animal form and escaped the house, Hannah had to come pick my up from the animal shelter and go through a hour talk on how the shelter worker though I literally was not any type of animal. I don't remember much of the shelter but it was cold and I didn't like being in a cage, I always hated cages. I put the note back and turned on the TV. Today I wanted to stay in my animal form to get use to it but when I was a animal I could barely do anything. I found a good show on Netflix and turned it on. I made sure all of the windows were closed then I let myself turn into my animal form. Once I changed I snatched up a small blanket in my mouth and set it in front of the TV. I laid down on it and watched my show.

After a hour or so I got up and walked around a bit. It still hurt to walk but I needed to get use to it. I planed I'm going to school tomorrow, I had to to make my plan work. I spent the rest of the day getting used to my animal form. I watched TV took a few naps, walked around, I had a hard time getting food as it was so high up, but I managed. Eventually night came. I went up to my room and fell asleep as a small animal. I was half asleep when I remembered my alarm. I turned it on, well hit around with my paw till it did what I wanted, then I went back to sleep.

The next morning I woke up and got ready. I found Hannah downstairs like normal.
"Hey, you going to school today?" She asked.
"Ya, it's just a few cracked ribs."
"Ok, I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it yesterday."
"It's fine, I can manage myself."
"Hey, so I wanted to talk to you about something"
"Huh?"
"So they just got a new kid, only 8 and he doesn't have a foster family yet so I'm taking him in for the next two weeks so I won't be here. Will you be ok?"
"Ya I'll be fine. I have school off next week anyways for end of tri break."
"Ok, don't get yourself killed or you know..."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." I was actually quite happy, that would give me the next two weeks to carry out my plan without anyone finding out. I headed off to school and walked through the front doors. I grabbed my books from my locker and headed to my first class. I saw Tord sitting there. He stared at me as if he'd seen a ghost, he probably expected me to be dead. I sat down next to him. Today was Friday and I knew I had to finish this part of the plan before the weekend.
"Hey Tord" I said as if he were a old fried. He glared at me as if I'd lost my mind.
"Hey Tord can I ask you a question?" I asked.
"What do you need toothpick?" He growled.
"Have you ever considered getting a pet?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Well you seem like the type of person who would like a pet, mabey a dog or a fox, a wolf would be cool as well. I just know that the shelter is getting a great selection in on Saturday and thought I'd tell you about it." I said. I was nervous about how he'd respond, it was a strange thing to say.
"Huh, are they now?" He said looking away, he acted like he had shrugged it off but I saw him write it down in his calendar on his phone. Now I had that done I just needed to make sure that the rest of the plan went smoothly. Tord left me alone for the day surprisingly. I was excited when the final bell finally rang, a whole week without school! I went home to find a note on the counter from Hannah saying that she had to go but she'd see me in two weeks or so. There was a small bundle of cash that I assumed the Foster care company gave her to spend on me through the weeks. I waited till about 5:30 before changing into my animal form, now all that was left to do was to get caught and put in the community shelter. I hoped this wouldn't backfire on me. I slipped out a window I had opened before I transformed, and attempted to close it as best as I could. After that I headed off into town. I kept hoping that this wouldn't be the biggest mistake of my life.
