it's a feeling that comes in
waves
and settles
deep in your bones
leaving you weak
your head hanging in
defeat
this feeling makes you feel like
a shaking leaf that barely clings
to a
dying tree
as strong winds try to blow it away
this feeling makes you unable to speak
the words sticking in your throat
making it hard to
breathe
And with each wave of this
terrible feeling
the sea
in your eyes breakthrough
the weakened dam
that tried to hold back the
waters
and forms a river down your
defeated face
call it what you want
but just know that it
doesn't have just
one word
to describe it
this terrible feeling
