Skylar.

"We scheduled your first chemo treatment for in about twenty minutes, that okay?" Calum asked me quietly.

"That's fine" I spoke quietly, crossing my legs as I sat in bed.

"You okay?" He asked me

I swallowed the lump in my throat

"Yeah- I'm good" I mumbled out, struggling to hold back the tears and worries that I felt so strongly.

Twenty minutes went by much too fast and I was soon following Calum and Ashton into a room with several other people from little kids to older people in chairs, IV's in their arms, some talking- some even sleeping.

"At the end" Calum spoke, his hand resting in the small of my back as he led me to the chair.

"Are all these people your patients?" I asked as I sat into the chair, feeling Ashton touch my shoulder to push my back against it.

"No, no- I'm just your doctor currently, Ashton has another patient over there but she's older- there's tons of Oncologists in this hospital." Calum spoke swiftly, pulling several things out.

Ashton assisted by putting a blood pressure cup around my arm, helping him gather everything.

"Is it going to hurt?" I asked, feeling my hands shaking from nerves, wanting nothing but to go cry in the shower.

"The needle is thick, so it's not the most pleasant stick in the world" Calum spoke, pulling a chair to be close to me.

"But the treatment works as a sedative- so you'll probably feel sleepy and calm, you might feel a little burn but nothing more than that" he spoke, snapping gloves on slowly.

I nodded, looking away from them, feeling myself panicking.

"Hey, you're okay" Ashton spoke, his hand rubbing my shoulder.

"Just relax, take some deep breaths." I nodded to his voice.

I let Calum grab my arm, looking for a vein in the least bruised area of my arm.

Ashton intertwined our fingers, making me look to him.

"You're so tense- think of it just as a blood draw, relax." He spoke quietly, rubbing my shoulder as he moved closer to me.

As Calum grabbed wipes from a tray beside me, I glanced to the needle- seeing that it was much larger than anything I had ever had in my arm.

I wanted to freak the fuck out, I wanted to cry like a baby- but I wasn't a baby and I wasn't about to let them view me as a baby.

"Calum- her pulse, you can't do it right now" Ashton mumbled out.

I expected to feel his touch on my wrist- but instead his fingers gently pressed against my neck.

"Skylar, baby- why are you so stressed out?" Calum immediately spoke, snapping his gloves off to make me fully focus to him.

"From the second I saw you- you're going to stress yourself out so much I'm going to have to sedate you everyday, we don't want that pretty girl- so talk to us" he almost begged, the two of them getting as close to me as they possibly could.

"I can't do this by myself"
