my presence neglected by many,
only one with death lingering near could see my form,
Tar dripped like yogurt, the air smothered in smoke,
The brittle boards crunched like the leaves they once held,
There was no time to delay, the beige pages of my tome reminding me what must be done,
I tuck the coffee stained book away, pulling out a glistening blade
I judge their souls, their faiths in my hands
For the burdens of a grim reaper was bestowed upon us who took fate in our own hands
