Short as hell, so sorry about that. Just wanted to give you guys something!Spencer’s P.O.V.
“So tell me about yourself Paige.”
The brunette in front of me twirled one of her long curls around her finger as she pushed the food around on her plate. Her shoulder strap fell and she glanced up at me from under her lashes, a slight blush creeping up her cheeks. “Well, I’m currently in my last year of internship and I hope to continue onto residency.”
I nodded my head and rubbed my chin, the hairs on my chin scratching my hand. “That’s impressive, congratulations,” She smiled at my praise and looked down, the blush on her cheeks seems to flame up to an even brighter color, “What type of practice do you want to go into?”
She looked back up at me, straightened her back, and with a confident voice she replied, “OBGYN.” The smile on her face after she said that showed all the pride that she felt with her choice.
“What made you choose to go down that route?”
I swear, this girl’s cheeks are permanently pink. “Well,” she laughed, “It’s kind of embarrassing.” My eyebrow rose as she peaked my curiosity. Upon seeing that I wasn’t going to say anything she continued, “I grew up with my father being the only parental figure so I always had questions. Now I can answer them.”
Her answer made the corners of my lips pull up in a smile, “Good for you.”
She gave me a nod as a silent thank you. “So I have a question for you.”
“What’s that?”
Her eyes narrowed at me, “What made you put these walls up?”
I stared back at her; the confusion was probably clearly shown on my face. “I’m sorry?”
Paige folded her arms and leaned forward on the table. “Spencer, you’ve asked me question after question tonight. I know they say that girls love to talk about themselves but there is such a thing as too much. Whenever I try and ask you a question you divert it to me or something else,” She paused to take a sip of wine, “So tell me what happened to make you have this guard.”
This girl was not the one that I asked on a date, but I kind of like it, it was refreshing. The girl that I asked was shy and didn’t really have a backbone, while the girl in front of me now was confident and straightforward. I didn’t really know how to react. “Well, I, uhm-“ Before I could make a bigger áss out of myself phone began to vibrate in my pocket. I held my finger up to her, “I’ll be right back,” With an apologetic smile I excused myself and made my way outside of the restaurant.
“Yes?”
“Spencer I need you to come down here. I’m so sorry I don’t know who else to call, something happened. Please Spencer!”
I pulled the phone away from my ear in fear of a burst eardrum, “Who the hell is this?”
“Are you fücking kidding me right now? Like are you fücking serious you fücking moose knuckle! How the hell do you not have my fücking number saved yet – “
As soon as the realization of who this was I cut her off, “Aria can you calm the fuck down! What do you want?” There’s only one person I know that has a mouth like that.
I heard heavy breathing on the other end of the line before she could continue, “Spencer, Kadence is in labor.”
