It's Just A Joke

“It’s just a joke,"
They say as they chuckle.
Is it, though?
Then why,
down in the deep pit of my heart,
do I feel heavy?
Why does it feel as if my laughter,
that’s supposed to be a sound of joy,
feel like a fraud?
Like the wolf in sheep’s skin.
Why, in my mind, thoughts like:
Let Loose.
Stop Being Stupid.

If they laugh, you must laugh.
Run all around.
Why does the sound of their laughter,
taunt me with so much guilt?
Why do I feel the need to run?

Run away from everything.
My sharp long nails make marks,
as I dig deep into my palms.
They don’t notice.
Clenching my teeth,
As I hold back.
Punching my arm lightly,
“It’s just a joke.”
They say, once again.
As if to convince themselves.
“Yeah,”
I reply bitterly.
“It’s just a joke.”
I fall onto the hands of the devil.
“It’s just a joke.”

Solamente Es Un Chiste

"Solamente es un chiste,"
Me dicen mientras se ríen.
¿Será?
Entonces, ¿por qué,
en el fondo de mi corazón
se siente pesado?
¿Por que se siente como si mi risa
que tiene q ser de felicidad, se siente como un fraude?
Como el lobo en piel de oveja.
¿Porque, en mi mente, pensamientos como:
Deja de
ser una estupida.
Si ellos se ríen, tu también tienes que reir.
Corre todo alrededor.
¿Por que, el sonido de su risas, me asustan con mucha culpa?
¿Por qué, siento la necesidad de correr?
Correr de todo.
Cavando profundamente en mis palmas,
mis uñas hacen marcas.
Nadie lo nota.
Apretando mis labios,
Me retengo.
Ligeramente me pegan en mi brazo.
"Solamente es un chiste,"
Me dicen otra vez,
Como para convencerse a si mismos.
"Si,"
Respondo con amargura.
"Solamente es un chiste."
Caí en los maños del demonio.
"Un Chiste."
