Ode to a Black Rose

Preciosa rosa negra

You emit such a vague awe

Rosa negra, of all the darkness you possess

Eloquent beauty unfurls as your petals undress

Murky, tattered and nearly dismembered

By winds that burned with a wicked ember

Remaining unfazed

As you were scorched by the flames

Blood red stains you had normally embellished

Were charred and exchanged for a black so hellish

Though not hellish in nature

You were muddied by the world

Still managing to twirl

In the silence undisturbed...
