CHAPTER 16: It's Always Been You

DARREN

"My father isn't one to be the nurturing type. My mother had always played that role up until she was killed from wolfs bane poisoning. I was five and after she died, my father became more distant and less of a father to me. He's an Elder in the wolf's council and has high hopes that one day soon I can sit next to him." I began.

"Oh. That would be nice, right?" She asks to try and find the silver lining in all of what I just said, I'm sure.

"It is. It's just that it would be nice if things were different with my dad and me. Since the day I was born I was training to become the best Alpha that would make him proud. But I later found out that no matter what, my father is who he is and is hard on me like he is and will never be proud of me no matter what." I start to confess with so much pain and disappointment in my voice.

"I'm sorry." She begins to tell me as she rubs my back.

"It's not your fault. It's just the way he was brought up I guess and besides, I'm never gonna be like him." I look at her and smile.

"I know. Because you are your own Alpha." She smiles at me.

I lean my forehead against hers and we hold each other's hand still and as we look into each other's eyes again, I gently caress the side of her face with the back of my fingers and we both start to lean in slowly until our lips touch one another's and we start to share a long and passionate kiss.

When we pull apart a little for air, I rub the side of her face with my thumb as he hand is on the side of my face still and we just smile at one another as we continue to sit there for a few more moments.

"I want you to know something." I begin to tell her.

"Okay." She says.

"I want you to know that, I will never force you to do anything you don't want to. That's including me marking you and us assuring the bond." I begin. "I know this all is still new to you and that you and I are still new but, I promise that I can wait until you are ready." I assure her.

She smiles at me and takes in a breath then letting it out before replying.

"We both know that you have to mark me soon. Which I have been thinking about a lot and even though we are still taking everything else slow and one day at a time, I know what will happen if you don't mark me and claim me as yours. So..." She stops and then moves her hair over to the other side, exposing her soft spot.

"Baby it's okay. We don't have to..." I began to try and assure her that I was serious and really didn't mind waiting. But she kept persisting.

"I want you to. Then I can mark you right?" She asks.

"Of course baby. I would love that." I smile at her.

"Okay then. You go first." She says as she bites her lower lip a little driving me crazy.

I lean in and gently start kissing her lips and then gently kiss place kisses down to her neck and to her sensitive spot and as I hear her heart beating, I hear her moan as soon as I kiss her spot. Then I extend my canines and bite down to mark her.

I hear her yelp at first and then moan again before I begin licking up a little blood the mark had drawn.

"It looks beautiful. Now everyone will know you belong to me." I smile as I look at her mark beginning to form of two wolves side by side, howling at a moon.

My wolf and I are both very happy as we have just now marked her.

"My turn." She smiles.

She then leans in and does what I did to her and then I feel her sink her canines into me and mark me. Of course I yelp a little from the pain but it quickly subsides and is replaced with pure pleasure.

"Mm baby. You don't know how long I've waited for this moment." I tell her.

"Well now you can show it off so that all the pack whores and everyone else knows that you're taken." She smiles.

I smile at her and then take her hand and place it over my heart with my hand over hers still while looking into her eyes.

"It's always been yours." I tell her.

I start to next see her eyes begin to water a little and then she smiles before then pulling me in closer and smashing her lips onto mine.

It's true, my heart has always belonged to her and always will.
