Thunder & Rain

The rain came crashing down

each drop falling gently

dripping from the sky above,

the ground was its safe house.

Thunder went crashing up,

through the dark clouds,

with each flash there was a crash

it lit up the sky with each run.

With no sun to rise or set

the earth began to flood.

Everything was plunged to darkness

the dirt turned to mud.

Grass drowned in the water,

shrivelling up each second.

The dark sky was all that stayed,

through the thunder and rain.
