I couldn't look at them anymore after I heard that. I loved her with all my heart.. But I messed up bad. I don't think I could ever forgive myself for what I did to her. I remember the first day I met her. I thought she was the most beautiful girl I ever seen

~Flashback~
October 2006

It was the beginning of October, Chicken and I was in the back of the class joking around as usual. But then it was like the whole world stopped, in walked the most beautiful girl. She had a poofy afro, a Fresh Prince shirt, light blue shorts with green suspenders hanging down. White tube socks and tan tims, and a Yankees snapback on her belt loop.

Here's a little story I've gotta tell
'Bout this boy I know so well

After she introduced herself to the teacher the teacher pointed to the desk right in front of me and then she sat down. The teacher told us to take out our textbooks and our notebooks. I saw that she had a whole pencil case so that's when I shot my shot.

I threw my pencil across the classroom and then I moved forward and tapped her on her shoulder, "Excuse me Miss, can I borrow a pencil?"
"Sure, here you go," She said with a strong British accent.

"You ain't from around here are you?"

"No I'm from the UK,"

"Oh that's what's up. I ain't from around here either. I'm from Philly,"

"Really. Then why are you in Manhattan?"

"My Dad's a rapper,"

"That's cool."

"Hey I never caught your name?"

"Oh I'm sorry. My name's Leigh-Anne. And you are?"

"Hakeem. Hakeem Lyon,"

"Well it was nice meeting you,"

I remember the first time I asked her out.

~Flashback~
October 2006

"Happy birthday Leigh!" I say as I run down the hall to where she's at with an armful of her gifts.

Back in the day was cool and all
Fell in love, I fell in love

"Oh my gosh. Keem!" She said once I reached her. I drop the gifts in front of her just in time to give me a bear crushing hug.

"No one's ever done this for me thank you," She says after she pulled away with a huge smile.

"You deserve it. Stop crying you're too beautiful to cry," I say as I start wiping her tears.

"I'm just so happy. Thank you," She says in between tears.

"I have another surprise for you. But it's going to require you saying yes," I say with a smile.
