When everything was sound

Riot

I tried to block out the rain for her,and succeeded a little
But as we walked down the empty street we could see burnt out rubble and tires on the road

"What happened?" I asked
She looked at me with a confused look
"You don't know?"
I shook my head
"..there's riots happening around the city,by different groups and the police aren't doing anything"
Their not doing anything?why,isn't this bad?
"Oh..."
We continued until a small apartment building was in sight
"There" she pointed it out
It looks run down and old
Only a single light revealed it in the darkness
"Home sweet home...."
I scanned the surroundings,this street isn't just empty cause its late,its abandoned,every building seems to be empty
"You live here?"
She nodded and looked down
"Its safer than it looks,no one comes this way besides some police cars"
I nodded
"Well...I guess this is where I leave you,um...see you tomorrow?"
She looked at me as if to speak,but her voice escaped her and all she could simply do is nod
I walked with her for a bit more until she was on her doorstep before turning to leave
