              "Is she asleep?"
Her mother whispered peeking through the door.
He sat beside his daughter on her bed, smiling and nodding, his eyes wide in wonder as he studied her.
It was moments like this she wanted to freeze the time and let it last forever. Little cute father and daughter moments.
He took hold of her small feet, grinning up at his wife.
"And here I thought she'd be a runner. Look how small they are!"
And she would've laughed or even giggled. If things weren't serious as it were.
"Wh... What is it?!" he asked, abandoning his daughters leg and rose up immediately.
"It's you." she stared blankly, her stance tired and sad as she stared at him.
"What's me?" he frowned now. Taking long heavy strides towards her.
She sighed in indignance. Shaking her head like a dissapointed mother.
              "We said when she's Ten-"
"Oh that." he murmured averting his eyes to little window in the purple little room.
"Don't you 'Oh that' me. You promised!"
                  "I didn't Lena. I agreed."
Lena's eyes hardened at the response.
"Right! And lemme guess, you want to disagree?"
                 "Lena-"
"You keep doing this. Push the important stuff away and give me flimsy excuses about why it couldn't happen!"
"You don't understand Lena!" he yelled
                 "Then make me!" she retorted.
                  "Soon! Please Lena be reasonable."
A shadow crossed her face. Her eyes drooped in sadness and without a word, she turned around and walked out.

Day 01
The atmosphere was gloomy. Like someone had died and the skies had adopted a mourning greyish blue colour. The sun was no where to be seen. Heck, even an early morning sky wasn't as depressing as this was.
          Kai felt irritated.
The material she wore felt like air. And the fact that it was there and could be seen irritated and spooked her simultaneously.
After making a decision that she couldn't be left in the house whilst they attended the convergence, they'd decided to dress her in a bland brown overall and a bandana on her face.
"To cover those prongs" Mora had said, pointing at her teeth.
Another bandana on her head was tied beneath her jaw. All in all, she looked like a dedicated muslim.
The temperature was very low. Pale silvery bodies poured out in troops, all matching along the paths created beside their homes.
Such order was frightening to Kai. The houses were built similarly, on a neat straight line. With about a foot distance from each other. A path sat beside each one and a mass of rubbery white skin flooded it. The air was quiet. The occasional shuffling was quiet too. Kai felt the people walked like they were being mind controlled. Heck, she was certain she was on an alien planet whose inhabitants spoke terrible grammar probably owing to their lack of teeth.
The door of the house beside Mora's slammed open and tiny little creatures with spanner like hands and legs rushed out making bliping noises. With beady eyes, pert noses and small cute mouths. Their rubbery skin gave them a wavy look and Kai would've thought them cute if she wasn't scared, or if her mind wasn't prejudiced.
A pale female followed. Her hair, neck length. Her eyes empty silver as Mora and her Father's. She yelled a few incomprehensible words that made the bubbly creatures stop running around and gathering at her feet. Then they followed her down the path in a straight orderly line, in the same manner, that creeped Kai and reminded her of Zombies.
          Where is this place?

How's this chapter? I'm sorry but the chapters will be shorter for now. I'm really busy and even though I have nine chapters written down already, I don't really have time to type. So I'll be updating a bit slow. I'm trying to update faster though. Please bear with me.

And to all of you who've helped me by commenting and giving advice, I am so grateful. You guys are the best!

So stay cool and fresh.  See y'all on the next chapter.
Love,
Miriel.
