NIALL'S POV

Gritz was nowhere to be found for a couple hours, and I felt my hands shaking each time I thought about what I was going to do.

At around two, when the flow of people had significantly slowed, she arrived down in the lobby, walking towards the maintenance closet.

I quickly popped out of my seat, walking over and matching her pace.

"Hey," I spoke up, watching her roll her eyes. I bit my tongue, knowing that I would be ticked at myself, too. And I was.

"What?" she spat, unlocking the door and grabbing a flashlight.

"What are you doing?" I wondered, furrowing my eyebrows. She sighed out, annoyed.

"The power's out in the laundry room, but why would you care?" she wondered, locking the door again and starting to walk away.

"I want to apologize," I blurted out, seeing her flip around.

"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to," she pointed out, raising one eyebrow and looking entirely too pretty for me to concentrate.

"I talked to that woman. She told me she didn't mind," I shrugged, and she let her shoulders relax.

"Well, I'm still upset with you. What you did was stupid and unnecessary," she glared, clicking the flashlight on and off a few times.

"That's why I wanted to take you out," I said loudly, ducking my head and flushing afterwards.

"When?" she asked without any more questions as to why.

"Tomorrow," I clarified, glancing up at her. "We can walk around town." She hummed at me, and I watched her nod from beneath my embarrassment.

"See you then," she called as she strode off.

And I didn't know how to feel.

The next day was a Saturday; both of our shifts were switched out for the mornings.

I wasn't dressed too fancily, but she was. She was dressed in the cutest white skirt and a black, strapless top (pic to the side).

"Hey," I breathed out, trying not to think about how pretty she was. She smiled lightly, still having abit of reluctance in her eyes towards me.

"Ready to go?" she wondered, tapping one of her feet. I nodded, and we got in my car, heading to the city. Our hotel was outside of New York City, giving people a chance to get away from all the hype. I loved it there, most of the time, but the city was where I had the most fun.

"What are we going to do?" she asked, staring out of the window with a faraway look in her eyes. The sky was slightly gray, and it was humid, promising rain later that day.

"There's a big mall, or we could grab some food," I shrugged, trying to be enthusiastic but failing.

"Whatever," she sighed, happy to go with anything and everything. I liked that about her.

We started walking downtown, cutting through the crowds as she tried to stay behind me.

"Niall!" she exclaimed, sounding far away. I stopped to look behind me, getting hit a couple of times with other people's shoulders. She struggled towards me, finally pushing through someone, uttering an apology, and then grabbed my hand in hers.

"I don't want you to lose me," she sighed, pulling me forward when I froze. "That would be bad." Her soft chuckle cut through all of the noise to my ears, and I smiled. I loved the feeling of her hand in mine.
